I can usually get a new job 1-2 months from the time I want one because of the industry I work in, but a $5000 pay out isn't much. Assuming it took a month to find a job I would probably lose money.

No, IFTTT don't control anything on the phone. It just sends notifications or can interact with different connected applications. It can't actually turn off the wifi, just send you a note to do so.

Based on the recipe I don't see any reason you can't bake them. Maybe lightly rub with oil first or just leave out. They will get slightly crispy, but not as good as fried.
