If the phone is going to release within the next 6 months, apple knows when they are planning to. I doubt they would release an LTE phone, which this is likely to be, without testing and working with each of the carieers. Yes, they do. Of course they do. In the past phones went on sale 2 weeks after the press conference. You don't just wake up and say "Hey, you're going to be selling our new phone in 2 weeks, we're drop shipping a shit load on you, get your staff ready"
