lol the Continental is absolutely not transverse. Maybe front-mounted is what you’re thinking of? Even A4's are longitudinal.

The Passat wagon was never rebranded. At all. After the US switched to the North America-only version of the Passat, the wagon was dropped/never made. The Golf Sportwagen is exactly that, a Golf wagon. The Passat wagon still exists elsewhere for the ‘Euro’ Passat.

He’s referring to Elon’s proposed underground ‘highways’ that were rendered into a video recently. Terrible idea all around.

The DBS and the 159, could they have picked a better looking pair? It’s too bad they got destroyed.

Even more so than the Giulia, this car isn’t done justice in pictures. I’m downright haunted by the image of a red one I once saw, not even with these aggressive wheels. It’s perfect from every angle.

Yes! Stevens Creek BMW is the worst!!! Especially when it comes to used cars. Sadly, they always have the cars I want. I had a terrible experience buying my A4 there, so I will never visit them again but I’m always tempted by the used ones they get. They keep up the shitty service by throwing a little more money on

They do offer a lot of options on Maven. Near where I am I’m seeing:

Chevy does have a Zipcar-like thing. It’s called Maven (but the actual app is called Drive Maven). So I guess it competes more directly with Audi On Demand, but I’m guessing Silvercar will be merged with that and I can see Maven also branching out to more ‘traditional’ rentals.

I think the main issue at this point really is the quality and luxury feel. Mercedes was right in this same situation not two years ago. Their cars just felt cheap and plasticky, and out of all the things you mention, that’s the one thing they fixed and leapfrogged over BMW in. BMWs were fine when the F30 came out,

It’s a ~120 lb difference with the weight distribution moving slightly rearward, per Jalopnik’s full review. Just stop bringing your hypothetical 12 yr old daughter along for the ride and you should be even.

Indeed testing times so far say a Civic turbo can smoke any 3. For some reason Hondas are incredibly quick these days! Pilot, Accord, and Civic are easily quickest in class. I’d still rather have a volume knob!

This is part of their “Range Rover” luxury line (Range Rover + Last Name). The Disco Sport is part of the “Discovery” not-quite-as-luxury line. Land Rover just has a really complicated three line naming scheme at the moment. Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender are the three supposedly. So in theory there would also

I’m way too late for this to ever see daylight, but the Accord Plug-in Hybrid!

That gen looks awesome! And yeah I’ve seen a few in SF but they’re still super rare. Not quite as rare, sadly, is the monstrous Mirai

There’s *so many* of these in San Francisco. All of them beat to hell. The bay area has to be a top three market for wagons in the US, I feel.

RIP front diff

BMW also offers a straight up, awesome wagon, so how come Audi doesn’t wanna get in on that action? Which isn’t to let BMW off the hook. They offer a RWD X3 but not a 3-series wagon. That’s messed up!

Well I don’t think anything short of substantial would be hanging out at 9,000 feet.

Unless you have a softly sprung, powerful car that happened to be in the power range when a deer ran in front, there’s not enough time for the front to rise significantly. If there’s enough time for a kickdown and you’re going slow enough that a normal-powered car can squat on the rears and actually lift the front

The real reason it’s got that name is because the Haima 3 initially started out as a blatant Mazda 3 ripoff! (Haima -> Mazda... they even mildly ripped off the emblem) Here’s the original:
