The “let’s go” is so delightful.
The “let’s go” is so delightful.
The weird lead up to the new episodes is kind of turning me off. I’d rather nothing than these trivialities being treated as major moments. This huge gap between seasons has really made me lose momentum with this show (and I’ve been watching since the Tom Baker years). I hope I have my socks knocked off when it’s back…
And that right there is why Back to the Future is still a “money losing” production. Creative accountants always have incentive to be creative in situations like what you describe (and one thing Producers are creative with is the books).
Having friends working on production for streaming services the behaviour of production companies at the behest of the studios is at times barbaric. People working 80+ hour weeks with 4 or 5 hour turn around. They adhere to the letter of the old contracts because Streaming productions fall in a grey area not TV and…
It’s too soon to see the impact, it’s things like infrastructure management that’d get hit. It’s already halted some planned development in the region so it has had a day to day hit. Just it’s not the day to day hit that’s obvious to the outside observer yet. When they start doing things like spite building prisons…
Ditto and the audience had the same reaction. There was a hard core contingent of Transformer fans there as it was a mixed press/pre-screening and the fans lost it. When I wrote my review I had to really fight the urge to spoil it as I was so excited by the prospect (given how much better this and Bumbelbee was to the…
So much for the no-spoiler embargo they have going until the 12th. Also, given a scene in the movie it’s clear this is a hard reboot and not the same continuity. The Bay movies don’t really matter.
Much of that talent has seemed to have left over the last little while. I feel they very much need to go on a talent acquisition spree less a studio acquisition spree. But it’s also a matter of using the assets they have appropriately. Look at Molyneux, they thought he was the hotness and elevated him up the chain…
They aren’t hurting but they are a lot of people very sceptical of their ability to manage their stable and rightly so. They’ve not really delivered but they’ve also been trying to please all parties which doesn’t work. They need to take a more direct hand.
But that’s what they did previously and they got flack for it. I don’t disagree, I just feel they’re going to catch bad PR no matter what they do.
Agreed, the work culture at many of these studios is vastly different from one another so they require different levels of attention. If the Activision deal goes through I can only imagine that’ll be an entirely new level of pain. I’m not giving them any free passes but they need to find that place and the chattering…
I don’t disagree if they’ve got a competency problem when it comes to managing brands. There’s the reality (none of the studios have really hit it out of the park) and the optics (that dragon game where they caught flack for cancelling it and now they’re catching flack for not cancelling a title). They really need to…
This is kind of a catch 22 for Microsoft, when they cancelled that broken looking dragon game a generation ago they were panned as micromanaging. When they took a hands off approach and trusted the studio to self manage they get a half finished product. It’s a no win scenario for them (I couldn’t even get out of the…
To be fair it’s pretty challenging to find any film that doesn’t fall into some trope. The trick is what they do with it and, so far, this looks like it’s bonkers fun which could make it work.
Not that funny it is money on a project they wont now spend being saved also investors are none too thrilled about Florida in general.
They’re not wrong, it’s why they brought the former CEO back but it’s nowhere near as bad as they’re painting. Shares in Disney are down but that’s the nature of stock markets they’re fluid they’ll be up long term which is why they’re still considered a buy.
The bonus fun is because the Republicans pushed Corporate Personhood they’ve painted themselves into a corner. Either they strike all of this as it’s straight up against the 1st amendment OR they undermine the previous ruling in a way that creates a nightmare for corporations. It’s a delicious catch 22 they’ve created.
Well I see nothing to disagree with in this article. :-)
The reason Disney were able to build where they did is they bought swamp land for very small amounts of money even at the time it was dirt cheap. They kept the project quiet so they were able to buy it and a bunch of extra land outside the immediate area for growth. That’d just not be possible today (if you look at…
The issue for me is the nature of the change it’s a retaliatory piece of legislation targeted to hit one company because they said they were against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation which is a First Amendment right (in this case for real as it’s a government interfering) as corporations have the same rights as citizens (which…
