Being a tech blogger it feels you forget a lot of people still use 1080p TVs and are not in a place where they can afford a 4k TV (let alone a 8k TV when that comes out more widely). This saves them money. Yeah no disc drive is not cool but the tone here is a bit skewed forgetting the market is a larger one.

I mean

Or it’s for people who don’t need a 4k TV. I have a 1440p monitor in my office. If I wanted I could hook it to that without problem. Remember not everyone is using 4k and this fills that gap (because they’re also likely not the kind of person to buy a Series X).

On the whole I’m happy with Destiny, that it seems like they’re folding a lot of the original D1 story ideas into D2 with the upcoming expansions is neat and that they’re paying off the big story arcs is great but it’s little wasted opportunities like this that make me sad. It’s a little thing but this coupon and the

My friend is working on Disco and I’m so jealous. I told them if they ever need someone to wander around in an alien mask let me know. My other friend was the sassy Life Science officer in Season 1 who later made an appearance in Children of Mars (I head cannoned it’s his Disco character’s grand kid). I’m so freaking

I wouldn’t be shocked if this is where some of the toxicity on the set that Fisher complains about came from. Under Snyder it was likely a more freewheeling playful experience, under Whedon (like him or loath him) he came in as a fixer. Given the change in medium (which is madness) he likely had a limited budget and

First, let me say, there is NO justification of death threats EVER but to say they have “no real world problems” is not really fair. First it’s clear they have a mental health issue because they made the threat to begin with but also for some this is their only outlet.

Really, if it’s ever a go to answer the person sending the threats is in need of psychiatric help.

That’s where I am right now, cancelling means you are punishing the people who did the hard work. Keeping your pre-order means you are rewarding bad behaviour. It’s a Catch-22 (I have friends in the industry and they’re as torn on how to support the employees there as I am).

I really don’t trust this company to treat their rank and file properly. I don’t mind the delays, I’m fine with the delays in fact. I’d rather they release something complete and working properly than something bugged (especially since October/November is very packed) BUT that they still have ANY crew on crunch is

Because everything is geared around the whims of a former game show host. The people pulling these strings answer to his appointees. It’s all about show now.

They finally found The Watcher and the Blue Zone of the Moon?

Except he’s old enough to have graduated from college. So *shrug* this is all stupid.

This entire reaction to them changing the model has once again reminded me of how embarrassing it is to be a person in a community of video game enthusiasts. This article is cute and funny and not to bad but it’s part of a larger discourse that has resulted in death threats. It’s all emblematic of everything wrong

It’s not denial until the movie or show comes out, it’s refusal to comment until the contract negotiations are completed. These are often professionals and in this case one who is in high demand. Juggling the necessities of prior commitment and filming schedules is not easy and saying they are signing on to a project

The reality is most likely simple, they are likely in negotiations and any professional worth their salt will not say anything until the t-s are crossed and the i-s are dotted. Yeah, people speak out of turn and before things are resolved, and that’s the problem with speculation and “Fan” press. Even if high ups in

*sigh* There are an array of options but you are so scared of communism you aren’t going to see them. I mean fuck, look at the Netherlands, Canada, pretty much every country with a higher standard of living than the US. It’s all some variation of socialism and capitalism. To be honest we’ve never seen a pure communist

Well, really glad I’m working from home as there’s no NSFW tag on this. There really should be. If I was taking my lunch and reading the site at work yowza this would land me in the HR office. :-P

Creatives aren’t any more or less prone to it than any other group of people the only difference is creatives are often under more scrutiny than an accountant from a paper factory.

Did you know priests used to bone? They’d ride the train to bone town and they’re kids would end up becoming Pope. It wasn’t introduced as a belief until the 11th century and didn’t actually become part of the canon law in the Catholic Church until 1917. Heck it’s not even consistent in all branches of Catholicism

I’ve been stuck at the last step since about that time. I think it’s just luck of the draw.
