@radar2670: You can bring the system to 4.2u and then use DOP Mii to "dumb it down" and that should make it so that games will boot directly from the menu. BUT, even if it isn't the latest firmware, you can boot discs directly from Configureable USB loader or GFX Loader without updating the system.
