That’s absolutely not how loans work.
That’s absolutely not how loans work.
I don’t know if this may be true in specific circumstances, but it’s never been true on any car loan I’ve had. I’ve paid off multiple car loans early, and I’ve only ever paid the remaining principle.
George Clooney as a schlub who loses his wife to Matthew Lillard is some of the worst casting of all time.
That you actually need 4wd in most parts of the country. My Veloster did fine in the far west suburbs of Chicago and site visits all over northern IL every winter. Snow tires > 4wd.
Welcome back from 1955!
More dangerous than the freeway that existed before?
Even in Socal it doesn't make sense. You just trigger a vicious cycle of induced demand.
You are basically citing bad infrastructure to build more of the same type of bad infrastructure. There are roads and stroads that go through communities with high speed limits and 6+ lanes all over the place, that’s true, but the point is those roads/stroads tend to suck, and act like highways.
If we’re seeking a pedestrian-centric (or at least pedestrican-friendly) model, I’m not sure California is the place to start.
It’s a boring answer, but it really is the Model T, and there’s really no contest. The entire landscape of the country and world was changed because of it, it irreversibly altered how cities were designed, essentially created the idea of the suburbs, and a million other things. Others cars have done more for pop…
Agree. Streets are more dangerous. Vehicles have gitten bigger and bigger. I was a dedicated bike to school and work person through college, but professional dress for women in the 80's ended all that.
This. There is a big difference between adding bicycle infrastructure and adding good, effective bicycle infrastructure. Lots of cities slap a line of paint on a road and call it a bike lane. Hell, the major city near me touted a whole mess of new bike lanes, but they put them in the wrong spot. So there’s street…
Fuck yeah.
But he would also have to be the gooder good guy with a gun to achieve maximum NRA prophecy.
America.
This all could have been prevented if there had been a third person with a larger, higher-caliber gun who could have defused the situation.
I live in a small college town (around 90K population) that prides itself on bike friendliness. There are parts of town where biking to get places (commuting, shopping, school runs, beer runs, what have you) is absolutely doable and pleasant. And then there are tons of places where you have bike infrastructure that’s…
Houston put in a bunch of dedicated bike lanes downtown probably 10 years ago, and I may see one person a week using them. I shouldn’t say “put in” since all they did was change a car lane to biking, which of course was great for traffic.
We have built a lot of bike infrastructure but the question is, how much of it is truly functional? Like, in my city we have an impressive array of dedicated bike paths and these are fantastic for getting from, say, my neighborhood to the farmer’s market downtown. BUT, we don’t have a lot of neighborhood focused bike…
Methinks it’s the GIANT FRIGGIN TRUCKS everywhere driving without signaling, stopping or giving way. Nothing like “sharing the road” with armed drivers in 2 ton vehicles.
