American Excess in full effect yet again, completely negating the whole purpose of EVs.

As fun as these comparisons to random objects are, I think relating them to their closest ICE competition would be more helpful. And then I’d like to see a list of the heaviest non-BEV vehicles currently on sale in the states.

If the Bolts go the way of the Volts then they’re going to come crashing down in value, find a niche market of fans who swear by them, and shoot up in value the second gas gets pricy.

Total bummer they are killing an electric city/commuter car to make big monsters. Why not both? Surely there is a market.

It’s almost poetry that Chevy is cancelling this vehicle now that they have the market cornered. It’d be like Ford cancelling the Maverick.

If you can get a 2023 bolt at MSRP or less do it while you can. there’s no way in hell they are going to sell anything remotely close to that price going forward. They dropped the MSRP by 8 grand last year as part of their “sorry our cars catch fire” tour so right now you can get the base model after the 7500 rebate

Great car but like so many others from so many different brands, I never understood why the Bolt didn’t become a viable sub brand for GM, there should have been Bolt commercial vehicles, Bolt vans, Bolts with AWD etc ... etc ...

Oh come on it's just a Yolk.

Sigh, still with this. Yes, EVs are not some kind of perfect green thing, that’s just impossible. But you’re just repeating old and demonstrably proven falsehoods. Even if the electricity comes from a coal plant, EVs are still far more efficient than gas. All that mining is going on already, it’s not an extra special

It's easier to clean the emissions from one tailpipe (coal plant) than to clean the emissions from millions of tailpipes (cars).

And the utter lack of any regulations on the maximum height from the road that headlights can be and still be street legal; I’ve seen jacked-up pickup trucks where the headlights are at my eye level standing -- and I’m 6'5"; there is no way vehicles like this aren’t blinding the vehicles in front of them at night,

At least you tried... right? You tried?

Giant high-rise pickups with retina-burning headlights.

the panic isn’t just about one death it’s about the fact that somehow this platform’s systems are allowing dangerous and illegal things to become promoted and widespread content.

It does help spread the word and make these challenges go viral, being attempted many, many times per posting of each challenge, from silly to dangerous.

Teenagers doing dumb shit with over the counter drugs is a phenomenon that predates Tik Tok

He was 13…

Countercounterpoint: You’d be stupid to assume that people won’t do it because they shouldn’t do it.

Counterpoint: They shouldn’t be following you so fucking close anyways for rear end crashes.
