Jaywalking is a bullshit crime to punish (often poor) people for not being inside a car when traversing asphalt. It just makes walking more difficult and shifts blame away from drivers and the overall poor design of North American cities.

I believe this is a problem with how Euclidean zoning in the US really limits the types of housing available near city centers. Downtown housing is expensive because it’s limited in availability and often geared towards luxury apartments and condos.

I guess I was thinking less in terms of quality and more just about my eating habits. I like being able to cook for myself, make new dishes, and eat according to how I feel in the moment. I wouldn’t enjoy always having food available without having a hand in how it was prepared.

Not worrying about cooking or buying your own food.
