I don’t hate the design of the costume, but the materials sort of look like Affleck -Daredevil/X-men 2000
I feel like a lot of Rom-Coms are visually lazy but this movie and Love Actually have some nice cinematography.
I would say that one of the downsides of the Disney Trilogy is that it didn’t lean in heavier on the toy side of things. I think of the cool playsets from the 80's like Cloud City carbon freezing room or even the Ewok village. Just think about how boring some of the sets in TFA are, Solo’s boring barge, or the bland…
Since it’s CBS will anyone really notice. I just assume most CBS shows are back ground noise for old people who want to take naps.
I think alot of people were blown away by the train sequence in Spiderman 2, but I’m like you I was not impressed with the movie, the acting from the main trio was worse, Aunt May turned into a characture, and the movie locations just look bland. I don’t think Amazing Spiderman 2 is a great movie, but it’s by far the…
Spielberg has always been great at creating a cinematic look to all his movies, so it was shock to me how much of a backlot the Neverland scenes looked, Crystal Skull did the same thing, especially the camp scenese.
Who would have thought that the most uncinematic Avenger would have the most cinematic looking D+ show. The entire first episode felt like being in Manhattan at Christmas time as opposed to a hallmark channel movie that has a couple of areal shots of the Empire State building cut into a Vancouver street set.
I’m glad we are getting a continuation of the X-men series, I am a little skeptical about bringing back the voice actors though. It’s been 30 years since the show, voices age. I would rather they recast where needed. I hope they stick with a similar style animation but better. X-MEN:TAS’s animation was wildly all over…
I loved Shang Chi, one thing that struck me though was that the structure of the script was very similar to Captain Marvel, with flashbacks intermittently sprinkled through the movie. Shang Chi did a much better job of having the flashbacks connect to the story , while I felt like Captain Marvel would have been better…
It’s weird generally their Series are pretty good but their Original movies are garbage, they have big budgets but never look like big budget movies.
I agree with this, I think Attack of the Clones is garbage and looks like a mid 90's FMV game most of the time, but Rise of Skywalker is much worse. It couldn’t even manage to have a coherent opening. Both JJ Abrams movies have less then stellar opening scenes, but the ROS opening a disjointed mess.
Just a comment, looking at Craig’s Bond, the really cut his hair too short for Skyfall, it just doesn’t suit him well.
What keeps me from Goldeneye being an upper Bond is the horrible score. The funny thing is the parts of the score that work great are used in the N64 game but the majority of it is terrible in the movie.
I don’t think it helped that World had some of the blandest cinematography of the series. It somehow made all the world travelling dull looking.
Apted is a well regarded director but not for this type of movie and it really shows. Honestly I like the World is not Enough the best of Brosnan’s movies. I like the scope of the story, but visually and pacing wise it’s dull.
I think the problem with the Brosnon run, was outside of Martin Campbell, the directors were less then stellar. I think the World is not Enough has probably the strongest script for the 4 Brosnon movies but the blandest direction and cinematography. Die another Day starts of ok and then goes completely off the rails…
I never understood the massive praise for Skyfall. It’s not a bad movie but too much of it takes place in London. It feels like we missed a bunch of movies between Quantum and Skyfall.
I don’t think any of Craig’s movies stand out as terrible. Quantam of Solace is not great but it’s short and has some decent action scenes. The script is almost non existent but doesn’t put Bond in a clown suit or anything. I don’t really get the hate for Spectre, to me Spectre could be fixed with a couple of post…
No I mean that the Peter Parker character was never really as much of a sad sack as what he was in the Raimi movies. Maybe the 1st few issues of Amazing Spiderman, but it really seemed like Raimi only read very early Spiderman and nothing since then. The Peter Parker/Spiderman dynamic was never like Clark…
