I would argue that most of the cast was fine, I will agree with Lloyd, he was too young. I think the main issue is no one is given anything to do, all of the relationship building and journey to Boulder is all cut out.

Can we talk about the bizarre editing where the show seemed to include spaces for ad breaks? It’s also clear this was not the big budget adaption most of us were hoping for. Out side of a couple of establishing shots here and there, it felt cheap. Obviously the advent of digital effects and digital cameras have made…
I just finished the show, it’s only recently been available in Canada. I’m trying to process how a 6 hour mini series was able to feel like more was covered then a 9 hour series.
The flashback structure is what sinks this adaption. I would also argue the tv show format doesn’t help either, it was annoying when it was obviously edited to include commercial breaks. There is no flow to the flashbacks and we don’t get to know the characters. The must frustrating part is it does have moments where…
After watching the movie, I think the Whedon reshoots were less extensive then people had thought. In all honesty, I can only think of maybe 3 or 4 scenes that were new in the Whedon cut, the rest were frankenstien inserts to include jokes in existing scenes. Most of Whedon’s work seem to be cutting the movie down. I…
I think this Batman costume makes Batfleck look too bulky, like a kid wearing a snowsuit that constricts his movements.
Question for those who have watched both versions, does it seem like Wheadon’s reshoots were less substantial then it appeared? Just going by some comparison videos on youtube it seems like it’s more of editing then major reshoots. Even Superman battling Steppenwolf looks essentially the same.
I’m genuinely curious to see the movie, the reviews either say it’s a masterpiece and those seem to indicate it’s a completely different movie. On the other hand the less then enthusiastic review say it’s surprising how much of the movie is the same just with extra additions. I’m thinking that if that’s the case,…
I actually think the action in Avengers is superior to Man of Steel and BVS. There is a clarity to it and the action is kept on the ground with the characters. The ending of MOS feels like a video game because we are watching everything from a distance there isn’t anything in the way of personal connection during the…
Am I the only one who thinks that Snyder’s visual prowess is overblown? While there are a couple individual interesting frames, I find that the locations are very bland, it’s mostly warehouses and there is very little visual difference between Metropolis or Gotham. The theatrical cut of Justice League suffers from…
I think if nothing else this movie will be a curiosity and gives us some insight into the filmmaking process. I didn’t like either of Snyder’s DC movies and Justice League was as bland and medicore as they come but I’m curious to see just how much of the movie has changed. I’m really skeptical that the over all movie…
I think the whole 4:3 thing is another of the retcon stuff for the Snyder cut. I have seen shots that were in both trailers and some on the Whedon version are wider then the Snyder version.
Here is a question I have , are the locations in the movie any more interesting then the theatrical cut? The only visually interesting one was at Superman’s memorial, the other 2 were some sort of underground sewer and the finale was just some generic abandon town. Is there something more visually exciting then these ?
I think the one downside of Star Trek VI is that Meyer was obvisouly working with a lower budget. There is something low budget about the finale.
I think now is time for Netflix to up the number of concurrent sessions available in the family plan and stop charging for 4k content.
Superman Returns is a movie that sounded better in the plot synposis then it actually ended up being. The movie below sounded awesome: ”Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the…
I have no idea where the money went in Stranger Tides.
I think it’s clear that 2 and 3 didn’t have a completed script when they started filming. Trying to follow the story in both movies is a bit pointless, it seems like stuff just gets thrown in with out much pay off or things are introduced that aren’t built up in the previous movie. Especially the Calisto stuff.
I read the op-ed and my first thought was all of these things sound reasonable. As a Canadian most of these policies are already in place. Only a party trying to rig an election would think this recommendation was bad: “Congressional districts would be redrawn by unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats”
I will be happy when Condorman comes to Disney Plus
