I suspect she’ll be absolutely fine. Her near-miss will probably give her a different perspective though, especially once she learns dead-is-now-really-dead for the hosts. And I also suspect Dolores will regret not finishing Maeve off when she had the chance...

Last season Maeve adjusted Hector and Armistice’s settings so their mortality was at the lowest settings - that’s why they can be peppered with bullets, and survive losing an arm. As for why Maeve didn’t adjust her OWN settings however...

And rushing in to cradle her on his lap, which doesn’t exactly scream ‘i’m saving you only because you’re useful’.

The group that find Bernard on the beach seem to be an entirely different set of people to the current group that have just arrived and are in the Mesa- it seems like this current group will mostly get wiped out in Dolores’s attack, necessitating a further wave of human support from the mainland.

Given Akane turned down being ‘awakened’ last week, i’m guessing Maeve thought that disclosing her robot-status would be ultimately detrimental to her...?

He did try to tell her back in the premiere, and got slammed up against a wall and threatened for it so...yeah. Probably not in his best interests to press that one.

I think he’s somebody who’s driven by validation, so he looks genuinely quite...touched? moved? I guess when he gets that thank you from her. Which is progress for him. Given his move of betrayal with the phone call has happened so early in the season, i’m suspecting he’ll have regrets and a change of heart before too

The SW hosts hadn’t left their world - Lee, Maeve and co. accidentally crossed park borders whilst they were underground and didn’t realise.

Yes, they did seem to be working as a far more effective pair this week, although the outcome of their arc will depend on what comes first: a) Lee’s inevitable change of heart regarding it all being ‘just code’ b) Maeve finding out about that phone he pocketed.

Maeve altered Hector and Armistice’s programming last year, turning down their ‘mortality’ rating - which allowed them both to surive their murder spree in the hub. Most of the other hosts still have their normal settings in place, so will be killed by a gunshot or being stabbed.

We saw Hector take a wee last year, so they do pee. Whether they can get UTI’s...no clue.

Yeah, my thinking was that they just got lost underground in the tunnels and crossed the park border without realising.

I was very into the playful stuff regarding the universality of storytelling tropes and archetypes, but a bit less into the kidnapped geisha plot that developed.

I was thinking as I was watching it ‘imagine experiencing this as an Australian first thing in the morning, with a hangover...?’. I’m glad to know you are all devotees, as opposed to mildly bemused by it.

I was sort of surprised that the termination process was still working, given we saw the main Mesa hub processes shutting down in the season 2 premiere.

It does seem mildly hopeful that B99 might get picked up by Hulu though though. But obviously, yes, fuck Fox on general principle.

Whether they can tell or not seems to be a bit murky: Ghost Nation seem to immediately clock Lee as a human in this episode, but Dolores didn’t seem to last week.

Isn’t what we saw in this episode just the first wave of security already there? The full emergency response seems to be linked to the 2 weeks later timeline.

They just used a random image and then went on to cast the actress later.

That shot of Lee in his little stable boy outfit made me cackle in a very undignified fashion.
