Hope I'm not stepping on any toes here but this is always one of my favorite posts of the day.
So, as vaguely as possible, it has been a tumultuous week in the Poppet household. Nothing terrible but life-altering for the time being. And while we knew it was inevitable, it is still strange to live it and experience it. It feels vaguely like a hologram mixed with a dream.

I know. I KNOW. It's an Open House. Most people won't RSVP. But dudes, it's next weekend and I need to order the salmon and buy the Smithwicks. And the difference between 50 people coming to our house and 100 people coming to our house is, like, KINDA A HUGE DIFFERENCE.
I know, I know. Today is Ash Wednesday and I am supposed to be charitable and kind and blah blah blah. But I have to complain somewhere because my eye-rolling is giving me a headache.
ManPoppet finished a project last night and we are celebrating here with the team (about 6 people). So, I have a 5 lb Round Roast and I want to try a new recipe. I like but don't love pot roast with carrots and celery and potatoes. I was hoping to serve this recipe with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veg.
