It's still a solid film and fits in well with Ghibli's earlier efforts but there's something missing and I think Princess Mononoke is a superior film because it takes what Nausicaa was doing but expands well on it like you say.

Still don't care for Nausicaa, don't know what it is about it but it doesn't fill me with the sort of feels I usually get from Studio Ghibli's work.

I loved Lady Dynamite, so much rang true but wow, did I ever miss a lot when I look at the reviews. There's so much symbolism and layered meaning, some of which I straight up missed until I read them here.
