I’m honestly hoping this is the premise. After Prey, I just want a series of Predator movies where a Yautja is sent to earth to battle famous warriors from history. Predator vs Cowboys, Predator vs Samurai, Predator vs Knights of the Round Table, etc.

With a name like “Badlands”, I’d assume it’s a Predator Western? All the gunslingers get killed off and the “Farmer’s Daughter” takes it out.

Yeah, Tom Hardy’s performance alone makes these worth a watch for me. I haven’t seen the second yet but I just viewed the first as a romantic comedy between Tom Hardy and...himself...and it was so good in that context lol.

Honestly looks better than the last one.

Best movie of 2023!

I loved Fired on Mars , but its one of those shows that seems initially to be one thing ( a generic comedy about a schlub loser at a soul less corporation..but on mars)..but after a few episodes reveals what its really about...which is no spoilers , a lot weirder and grander in scale . From an artistic point of view

Seconded on Scavenger’s Reign! I really really want a season 2, but even if it must live as it’s own one-season-thing, it is wonderful, unique and amazing.

I am also keeping an open mind, but also increasingly thinking that The Crow is like Terminator/T2 - lightning in a bottle that cannot be re-created.

yeah I really.liked scavenger’s reign. surprised to see it moving from max to netflix so not goomg to hold my breath for a second season if they are already pushing it onto other platforms.

Yahoo betcha I am.

Young Sherlock Holmes? Meh. When is someone bringing Young Einstein to the small screen?

I am with you. I don´t know whats all the fuss about Spoilers. In many cases Spoilers help me to get even more interested.

Only Exception for Spoilers are things like “The 6th Sense” and “I see dead people”, but this Spoiler here doesn´t sound like it falls into this category.

So... There’s going to be a 3rd movie eventually, with the title “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, right? Let’s not wait another 36 years for that one, or else Michael Keaton won’t have to wear any makeup at all for the part.

Wow, calling Morph “it” just underlines your discomfort with non-binary genders at best, but I’ll call it - you’re a bigot. What does it matter to you? These are fictional characters who have had wild personality changes over their histories, as different creative teams enter and exit.

Sooooooooooooo ... is it ever going to come out why Beau DeMayo was fired? Feels like a ticking time bomb hanging over the show in general and every interaction he has when he says stuff about it.

I get the feeling about Wright, but I would point out reassuringly that Barbarella is not that established an IP - it’s pretty obscure and has pretty much been dormant for decade, so there isn’t a big incentive for the studio or the rights owner to meddle and “protect the brand”. So Wright will probably get as much

Man Barbarella was just an “of its time” production I cannot imagine any way in which a remake would ever be worth the time

I’m looking forward to it. I’m one of the like 30% of viewers that finished the first season and generally enjoyed it, despite the somewhat awkward choices they had to make with characters to account for the fact that they don’t have the rights to a lot of the stuff they’re kind of sort of referencing here and there.

This is an eternal debate when doing a period piece in a fantastical genre like superheroes or pulp adventure : do you have to be faithful to everything in the era, including the bad stuff, in order to not sweep past atrocities under the rug? Or is it okay to bring in modern sensibilities, because this is a fantasy

I agree with enjoying Snyder’s version until the Snyder JL cut. That was an absolute train wreck. Like you, I’m excited for Gunn’s take though.
