How come it hasn’t updated in nearly 12 hours? I’m genuinely worried. Between yesterday’s Gizmodo post and this one, I worry for Deadspin.

Agreed! Deadspin and io9. Other sites that cover the same subjects don’t do it anywhere near the same.
Frankly, I don’t want the rest of the world to know that we approve of anything that he does. If all they see from him, is in front of his rallies, and don’t understand the nuance of the vetting process to get into one of those, one wouldn’t blame them for thinking that Americans love the guy. I’m happy that the Nats…
I’d pay to see 2 (especially) 3, 4, 5, and 7 if that person was Osuna and then 45 was promptly rushed and mauled by Altuve.
Editing to add that I would pay to NOT see #8. At one point last week, I turned on Thursday Night Football for a reprieve from Joe Buck, but he was there too, and I started to think that this dude…
I used to think that baseball fans were a fairly liberal crowd because of the echo chamber I put myself in, until I started following a few MLB fan groups on Facebook. Their recent reactions to the Rob Drake controversy were atrocious and, frankly, goddamned frightening.
I got sad when I heard She by Green Day on a classic rock station.
I haven’t gone through your other comments, but based on this one, you don’t deserve to be in the greys.
A few years ago, I started listening to The Misfits and The Dead Kennedys and such and until now I thought they were considered a subset of classic rock.
This. Sanchez’s post season demeanor is not being given enough credit. For all of the (well deserved) credit that Scherzer, Corbin, Cole, Strausberg, Geinke, and Verlander are receiving, Sanchez has kept his cool through the games that he has pitched and has been able to dominate plenty of batters. I’m not just…
Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know those were on Netflix at the moment.
I gotta admit, I do like the Marvel movies, but if I had to choose: Scorcese any day.
I just don’t feel this is a fight worth having for these directors.
Every month, Netflix releases at least one thing that I would pay the amount that I pay for my subscription, to see in the theater, or rent from an online service. Every damn month, they make my subscription worth it. The Irishman is no exception. I also can’t wait.
This headline, combined with that picture, is a prime example of the reason I prefer Gawker / Kinja media to any other sites. Deadspin is also great at this.
You’re not wrong, but I think the argument is purely hypothetical. We don’t know, without franchise movies, if non-franchises would make more money. Would Pain and Glory make the same amount of money without the existence of Spider-Man Far From home? Would Hustlers have made more? Would the mediocre-ly reviewed Ad Astr…
And I agree. If after A New Hope, Lucas had continued to push himself as a director, we may have seen him innovate in other ways. Or we may have gotten another classic like American Graffiti.
On the other hand, we may not have gotten ILM and THX.
.... all of this coming from someone who could watch all 10 Star Wars…
I understand Scorcese and Coppola’s frustration. When I go to Marvel movies, I do mentally treat them like them park rides.
BUT Scorcese and Coppola have lived and worked through multiple periods of cinema that have seen cheap entertainment; The westerns of th ‘50s and ‘60s, the exploitation films of the ‘70s, the…
You would be right. From the IMDb user reviews:
Rockies fan here. I was rooting for DJ LaMahieu and Adam Ottavino. I don’t care about either team.
I DO get to see Parra in the World Series and I’ll be rooting for the Nats as they remind me quite a bit of the 2007 Rockies, but maybe a bit more dominant. and consistent.
I’m a Rockies fan. Three of our guys, from last year, are on the Yankees this year with one of them being an All-Star. I hate that it’s forcing me to root for The Yankees, but at least I can root for The Nats in the World Series because of Parra.
Also longtime Bronco fan. Guess what Joe Buck was finally not calling a baseball game tonight and it was pretty entertaining.
I liked the movie but you are SO RIGHT about it wasting Beetz and Henry.
Editing to add that I thought that the (surprisingly fun) Child’s Play remake did a pretty good job with Henry. Fun movie, good jokes, and his character ended up being my favorite in the movie.
