I work in the federal judiciary and can verify that we have a boatload of drug dealers and murderers in federal prisons. Lots of rapists too! It’s not all wire fraud. The determination of what prison you’re sent to isn’t dependent on the crime, it depends on the arresting agency and what court you’re prosecuted in.
