Yeah, sorry! It’s a big, extremely fluffy, black cat. :) There are some color variations, but for the most part they’re black.

At first I thought I did nothing, but now I’m realizing I’ve made quite a few adjustments. I have two long-haired cats and two dogs.

Most recently, I bought a pet-edition Roomba. The amount of hair that thing picks up is alarming. I will run the Roomba and not five minutes later there will be a new furball on the

Seconding the comment about contacting HR. There was a bully at my office. He would regularly harass staff members, insult them (oh, can’t you take a joke?), spout racist/homophobic/sexist “facts”, and (when I turned in my two week notice) threatened to kill me for being a traitor (in front of other coworkers, even).

I

Small kitchen owner here and cook all my meals at home:
No room for a mixer, so I love my hand whisk. I also have a second one that is whisk tongs. Dual purpose to save even more space! The amount of time it takes to whisk by hand is less time than I’d spend setting up and tearing down a mixer

Also love flexible

I wish I had counterspace for a toaster oven. It is the only reason I have a toaster instead.

I was just looking at Lodge skillets this weekend. Thanks!

Just started The Martian, so I decided to see what its estimate was. By my (very rough, non-scientific) estimate, it would take me around 6.5 hours (what can I say? I get distracted easily). By this website’s estimates, it would take me 4.5 hours. 4.5 seems a little low for how much re-reading I do in a given page.

Yeah, the data was a bit of a concern, but since I work from home and am almost always somewhere where there’s wifi, it wasn’t too difficult to adjust to not using data.

One of the best financial decisions I have ever made was switching to Ting. My bill went from $120/month for two lines down to $40-60/month for two lines. Even with buying out my contract and purchasing new phones, I was still paying less after three months than I ever had been with AT&T. I only wish Ting Internet

I got lots of job interviews right off the bat. I think you’re really positive in the beginning. It’s easy after the initial depression from the job loss fades a bit. I had so many people around me that also lost their job and we were all supporting one another.

I had a very similar experience except I went through a bout of severe depression after losing my job to layoffs. It was a few weeks before I stopped collapsing on the floor where I stood and sobbing. My mom even sent me flowers to cheer me up, which just made me cry even more. Knowing other people are sad for you and

This was my approximation of a conversation that my accountant had with us. He told us we moved into a higher tax bracket based on an increased income. I think our household income went from $50k to $80k.

This is interesting, but I’m not sure how accurate. My husband and I earned a combined (no kids) income of around $80k after I got a new job. We went to the accountant all happy, thinking we’d get a nice chunk back. No, we owed $2k. Our accountant’s advice? Earn less money. We were just barely nudged into a higher

I think about this a lot and it’s 90% of my aversion to traveling in non-english speaking countries. I can’t even manage to have my immediate family grasp what is an isn’t safe food-wise, yet alone the waiter at a local restaurant. Even my doctor was trying to convince me to take a medicine he knew had ingredients in

I’ve also been mulling around redoing my kitchen. It has decent floors and a nice sink, but the rest is a crapshoot (old stove, really cheap/small fridge, and crappy dishwasher). $56k caused me a balk a little. My entire house only cost $85k. I wonder if IKEA cabinetry and non-marble countertops would bring down that

That’s what I was thinking I might have to do: pick up certain rugs and dog beds. Wouldn’t be too much of a hassle if I didn’t have to do it everyday.

Thank you! This helps! My rugs are mainly handmade woven/crocheted rugs on tiled floor (bathroom/kitchen). I’ll have to look and see if I see anything about rug issues with the Roomba. It sounds like I’d definitely have to track down all the cat “mice” toys that are scattered throughout the house.

I keep waffling over buying one of these. I usually only have to clean my floors once a week. Can you change how often it runs? And how does it do with rugs (the slippery kind that tend to not stay in one place)?

I really want one, but I’m worried it’ll end up being a huge waste of money when I find out it won’t meet

Thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t heard of those, but I’ll check them out next time I’m in a bookstore. He also really likes the “I Survived” series, so he does like action/adventure and historical fiction.
