I live in Bmore, you either have to hit roads early or late, otherwise you get slowbies and/or cyclists. Nothing worse than blasting down your favorite road to find someone puttering along.

Hmm, I am not sure what to say about that. I guess try to pick your time and hit the go pedal?

I recently (8 hours ago on my lunch break) rediscovered the joy of driving a slow car fast. Lured by a sub 3000 pound sedan with a 2 liter, a manual and 37 mpg that I could buy with the change in my couch, I could forgive the stigma of its badge. Stratus.

The car itself can be boring, but for fuck’s sake... appearance wise it can look something other than boring or appalling. Toyota hasn’t made anything seriously good looking in a LONG time... if ever.

For me that’s why I prefer slow fun cars. My stock-engined foxbody Mustang was *way* more fun than my 32v SN95 Cobra precisely because I could drive it harder on public roads. The Cobra I couldn’t really get on it anywhere, laying into the pedal in 1st gear would fry the tires, and laying into it in 2nd would put me

A Camry is definitely a better handling car than a 70 Chevelle SS, not sure about faster though. But even if it is, the Chevelle is still better in that it is a riot and has lots of character. The Camry’s problem is it has none because it has to appeal to such a broad audience.

I bought a CX-5 and now I need to be forced out of that car. I really enjoy driving it.

The simple fact of not losing your car in a parking lot with 20 others of the same make/model/color is reason enough to drive something interesting all the time

So kind of like entering one of those 24 hours of lemons races, too many slow people and cars...

Because carmakers sell a lifestyle, not a car.

Thank you

Traffic is only going to get worse every year, regardless of where you live. There are more people and more cars on the road every year. The cars themselves are bigger. But there are not proportionally more roads. If anything, there are fewer roads, with transit lanes, bike lanes, and HOV lanes being carved out of

You’re right, and I hate that you’re right. Most people don’t care about driving. Most people who do care about driving get brow-beaten into buying a boring car anyway. That doesn’t mean I’m just gonna shut up and accept it. Toyota can get fucked if they’re gonna try to tell me that I should have a hard-on for a

I do not buy cars for the 3 mile commute to and from work each day. I could walk that if I had to (and my average over the last 60 days is 7.08 miles per day for 418 miles walked; so really, I already do). My car is and always will be for the weekend; a curvy road in the mountains. Screaming down wide open tarmac in

I have a ‘92, but being a NE car it has a rust problem. I was waffling between turning it into a track focused car or selling and I think I am going to sell and look for another rust free NA8 that I can start building to my vision.

Taking a “fun” car on a boring drive makes it no longer boring, and yes I am talking about the stop and go traffic, popping out for groceries, dropping kids off at school, kind of things. Also why does everyone think they need an automatic transmission “because traffic” they are the worst in stop and go and awful

In traffic, sure, it can be boring. When there is no traffic, having a fun car is a hoot even during my daily commute.

Nice!

WELL YEAH BUT WHY DRIVE THERE IN COMFORT AND SAFETY WHEN YOU CAN DO IT IN A CRAMPED LOUD MR2 WITH ONLY ENOUGH FRUNK SPACE FOR A WATERMELON?! IT HAS A STICK, I FEEL LIKE A TOURING CAR DRIVER!!

What is your “entertaining car”? I will literally do anything in my Miata and have fun. Hell driving three blocks to get milk is fun in that dumb car.
