I’ll admit that this is a selfish, entitled, hypocritical perspective, but here goes:

I was never impressed with Ghosn. While Nissans always felt just a little cheaper than Toyotas and Hondas to me, in the pre-Ghosn era the difference felt like about a half step below those two class leaders, and maybe half a step above a typical Mazda. Starting in the early 2000s, though, that difference widened

I’d be invited to leave the office if I ate that for breakfast.

Why should it be any different today? I don’t see anything making pedestrian ‘60s cars any more special than pedestrian ‘90s cars.

How about making the world suck less?

I can’t say it’s the face I would have designed for the car. But I find it marginally less ugly than the Civic’s busy snout. Civic also looks and feels half a size bigger than the Corolla. It’s a bit bigger than I want a compact car to be.

I like the 3 too. It’s the best-looking of the modern compacts IMO, inside and out. But I already own a Mazda, and unfortunately, my local dealer really sucks. It’s a shame that something like that is the main thing keeping me from considering the car.

Easier to lower the FD and raise 6th by a corresponding amount.

I’m an ex-Honda fan as well. This is the generation of Civics that taught me to love Corollas. I don’t care for the styling or the turbocharged engines in these things.

Luckies are smoother than Camels.

It sounds more like they’re just not going to build a next-generation Fusion at this point. By 2021, that platform will be at about the end of its lifecycle anyway. I don’t see it so much as them stopping the line on a successful car as them not wanting to roll the dice on how successful an investment it would be to

This really isn’t all that difficult. If your idea of humor is saying things that make other people feel bad about themselves, you’re an asshole. If those people happen to belong to marginalized groups, you’re a bully and an asshole. And when you’re a bully and an asshole, other people will use their rights to call

I’m hoping the Giulia gets one. I’d like Alfa Romeo to stick around here.

All true. However, attrition has killed a lot of these cars, and I don’t think there are very many left in this condition, which I’d describe as pretty decent. I wouldn’t want it for a daily driver, but if somebody were building a collection of early-’90s Japanese performance cars, this one seems like a good candidate

I don’t think Infiniti is really perceived as a luxury brand in the U.S., even though they try to position themselves as such. I think they are seen as just another mainstream manufacturer, as opposed to Lexus. I think there are a number of reasons for that. Part of it is that Infinity never had a successful flagship

While there are things about the CR-Z that I can appreciate from an engineering perspective, no, we really aren’t underappreciating it as a car. They just weren’t all that good to drive as far as sporty cars go.

I want a truck with Ford’s aluminum body, GM’s 6.2L V8, and all the amenities of the Ram.

I don’t really hate SUVs. Actually, I kinda want a Suburban or a 4Runner.

You’re right. The New Beetles weren’t Beetles, really. In spirit, they’re more like Karmann Ghias.

Mine was black, but otherwise just like that, down to the tan interior. Totally stock. Of course, that was back in 1996.
