I’ve got 6 long beds within 25 miles of me, and those are just quarter ton pickups.

Hyperbole aside, I’m not really disagreeing with the premise of the video, that buying more than what we need is stupid. But, some of the details he gets wrong (F-Series was the best selling vehicle in 1982, long bed pickups are most definitely not a special order item) undermine his point and make me wonder what…
Kyle Clark is a damn treasure in Denver reporting.
Very cool. I would’ve tried using the instrument cluster from a CV that included a tach, and maybe figure out a different location for the A-pillar gauges, but that’s about it.
I was on board until “the worst offender IMO is the Lincoln Mark V.” How dare you, sir.
300 I6 > 4.0L V6
This thing has been listed on and off for months now, and pretty sure each listing has the “not interested in offers” line. Don’t know why they just don’t list it on Cars & Bids or something. Would no doubt get the price they’re demanding.
I actually like this era Taurii, but even I wouldn’t pay nearly this much, $5k at the most.

Subaru Outbacks. It seems like everyone who relocates to Colorado gets an Outback as part of some “newcomer package” that includes Thule racks, a Patagonia fleece vest, and a chocolate lab.
2002 Ranger:
When I worked at a dealership, not only did every non-back office employee have to have a license, and by extension know how to drive (hopefully), but they wouldn’t hire you if you had any violations the prior three years. Really curious what this Jeep dealer was thinking.
20-plus years ago I installed a 3-inch lift on my 2WD ‘97 Ranger. It looked kinda cool with the bigger tires, but I ruined the ride, the already anemic performance (2.3L) was made worse, and the lift messed up the front end geometry, so I chewed up tires at an alarming rate. And it still sucked off road since, you…
Easy NP. SHOs, especially first gens, are impossibly hard to find in decent condition, and the ones crossing the block on BaT (better condition of course) are really creeping up in price, getting >$10k. For a California car in decent shape for $4k, this is a no-brainer.
Aside from the useless bed, that it only came in RWD was another factor in the Blackwood being an abject failure.
So if a 2010 is going for $23k, my 2002 should sell for, what, threve hundred thousand?
David, just keep the obsessive “Holy Grail” articles coming on the Autopian site. And in 20 years or so, when it’s old and decrepit enough for you to be interested, you can review my manual 2014 Fusion (1 of 1,449!).
The real error was in 2006, when Ford decided not to name its new midsize car Taurus. The Five Hundred was a perfectly acceptable, if boring, full size car, but it was not a Taurus.
Yeah, and we’re also supposed to believe the Thai police are driving Matadors?
