I’ve never seen so many dead hookers in all my life!

$4900 for a Gladiator 4x4 in pretty decent shape?

Those sales percentage gains aren’t cherry picked from one month, they are YTD through May, five months of sales. Through the first five months of 2016, Expedition sales are up 20%, far faster growth than any of the GM SUVs.

Yes the GMs outsell the Ford but it’s not as bad as you allude. Through May YTD it’s 4:1, and that’s only if you lump both of GM’s brands together. Against the Chevys, the Ford is outsold 2.7:1 (GMCs outsold it 1.4:1).

Agreed, the Expedition is due for replacement, and it looks like an all-new aluminum-bodied model is on the way for MY 2018. But that doesn’t mean the current one is not competitive, alluded to with the previously posted sales growth figures. Heck, a 2015 Expedition beat a 2015 Tahoe in a Car & Driver comparo.

The Expedition is not “horribly dated and not competitive.” While it has been a while since an all-new model, the Expedition was recently updated with some exterior and interior tweaks, and the replacement of the old 5.4 with the 3.5 EcoBoost.

Funny, my experience with a ‘99 Mystique V6 5-speed was the complete opposite of yours. Parents bought it used in 2000 with about 30k miles on the clock, and after 14 years and 170k miles of pretty hard use (brother and sister both learned how to drive on it) it was finally done in by a broken motor mount. I like “CHEATDI” personally.

I was more-or-less on board until I saw that interior...WTF?

I’ve driven across Kansas more times than I can count. It’s not so bad as to warrant adoption of autonomous cars.

2nd: News like this fills my head with images of Jac Nasser. Nasser dumped millions into failed e-commerce and car distribution ventures in an attempt to turn Ford “from a boring old car maker...into a consumer-products and services company;” wasted billions on Jag, LR, Volvo, and Aston; sold off its commercial truck

YEAHHHH indeed

That was way more information on the history of the Eagle Premier than I ever cared to know, but fascinating nevertheless. Thank you.

As objectively better as the new one is, I’d have the original. Plus, this:

My first computer was a Compaq, a desktop no less.

That really depends on the loans you have, some are relatively cheap, some are not. My grad school loans are at 7%, so damn right I’m paying those back as quickly as possible.

Knowing VW’s penchant for understating power (among other things), I bet the 305 hp rating is closer to whp than at the crank. At the crank the Clubsport is probably closer to 335hp-350hp.

Speaking of Top Gear, is anyone else aware that TG USA is still around and the season premier is tonight?

I’m going to assume the rest of her model collection not pictured are a dizzying array of various Chevettes.
