In what way is it inaccurate?

The problem is that the people going around saying these things no longer give a shit if they’re called racist or sexist.

It’s the same thing that led the media to dismiss Trump as a serious primary candidate . . .”

In the example above, Trump didn’t attack all Mexicans. He just said that the ones coming in illegally are criminals and rapists.

I’m not sure what state you’re basing your comment on, but I think most states have a lottery system in place for charters that have more applications than open spots.  So it’s not a “Select a Student” deal in most places.

That may be true in some parts of the country. But studies have shown that children of color are prime beneficiaries of charters:

The median is dragged down by some low-performing schools (hello Louisiana) that are more Bible study schools than actual schools. But there’s a reason why any list of best schools is dominated by charters.

1) Correct

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better about yourself.

I agree that you don’t think.

Nothing in Sullivan involved an allegation of being a racist, which is per se defamation in most jurisdictions.

I think your underlying assumption - that young voters are overwhelmingly/majority liberal - is suspect even if race is taken out of the equation.

You’re on the internet. Use it and learn something. You won’t have to look hard to find that calling someone racist is, in many jurisdictions, per se defamatory.

If he files suit in Iowa Federal (or state if he can avoid removal by one of the Defendants) court, where your average juror is likely even more racist than he is (after all, they vote him into office for a reason), you might be surprised to learn how tricky defamation cases can be.

Yes.  Why else do you think every major newspaper has in-house counsel that editors run every story by?

No, it wouldn’t.  That’s why media organizations have policies in place exactly like this one.

The link I provided actually does provide information to support my statement.  If you have evidence to the contrary, it would be nice of you to provide it.

Calling someone a racist is a factual statement.

If you think the fact King is a public figure makes him incapable of bringing a defamation suit (if that is, in fact, your “opinion” on the matter) it’s clear which of us does not understand “basic law”.
