Really pains me to say this, but Men was shit. Ex Machina is one of the best scripts I’ve ever read, and a fantastic movie; the last 30 of Annihilation are endlessly fascinating, I think about that penultimate scene all the time.

It’s double mumbo jumbo. I’m in for a horror movie about conversion therapy, and maybe one about a slasher, but a slasher movie about conversion therapy is too much. It’s like Die Hard with aliens—you can’t do both conceits at the same time.
