I don't know the numbers on this — are they overestimating how much "damage" to theaters that shorter (or simultaneous) PPV/online releases would cause? How many people would really skip seeing a movie in a theater if it were available the next month or week via HBO or iTunes? I mean, I see a movie in a theater like

That's actually a Disqus glitch, not an AVC mistake. Tho I really was hoping it was going to be followed by an actual script from the show.

KATHARINE : "Comment dites-vous, 'il a de minuscules mains'?"
ALICE : "Je crois que le mot est 'Trump,' madame."

I choose to interpret that one as two golden turkeys standing back to back, like a Play-Doh version of heraldic gryphons or something.

Ditto and ditto. And I think the "Stories" are nebulous and just disappear? Like, they aren't saved to your normal Insta page, and that's a fucking lot of work for something that's gone forever after a day. I usually skip them — esp the ones from NASA, which are just INTERMINABLE. Oh my god they have like 20 screens

That was a DAMN good movie with a damn good cast and some cool-ass alien beastoids. I'm not really a Cruise fan in general, but yeah, he was a great fit for that role and played it just about perfectly.

And that first "fight scene" with building security was just … holy hit that looked like a PRACTICE RUN just to get the choreography down and they accidentally filmed it. And then the cgi or whatever when he flips over the car was like "wow nice greenscreen bro." Also, you know who keeps saying "but I just want to

And that's not even the worst of it. Not by a LONG shot.

Her first ep was … really, really weird to me. It seemed like someone had pulled her aside right before filming and said "okay, do your best and noisiest and most ebullient Stephen Fry impersonation." I was so accustomed to seeing her very controlled and dry, you know? But either I got used to it or she settled down,

Well I'm going to have to start actually watching this show now. Love Sandi Toksvig, but NOEL FIELDING? ARE YOU KIDDING? This is going to be so fucking weird in the best possible way.

I clicked on a few articles — not Newswire pieces, I don't think? — today that had the comments in the normal/preferred "directly under the article, full frame width, not an overlay" format. I have no idea why those were like that, but I was OVERJOYED.

True, true, I forgot about that excellent "feature." And also the one where you can expand the comments full screen, so that you also lose the ability to check something in the article, or do anything at all except read the comments.

Well, at least the comments themselves are still in that wonderful ultra-skinny column so that two sentences take up fourteen lines (I love scrolling! so much!) and those stupid easily-identifiable avatar pics are swapped out for Generic Grey Person Silhouettes. So at least there's that?

That's the one I own, via iTunes. If that's what counts as "better," then I can't fucking even imagine how dire the original theatrical-release cut was.

Maybe I have unrealistic expectations for a *weekly live comedy* show? But I guess it's always been hit/miss. I watched frequently in my teens/20s, but I was never really a devotee — and the last time I remember it being consistently great was the 2008 election cycle, with Fey and Armisen as Palin and Obama. Lately, I

FORGOT THEM? You must be too stressed to think straight. I recommend a course of Padlockigami.

I usually find it Really Not All That Funny. Baldwin's Trump stuff is frequently good, but often too close to reality (and thus more fucking depressing than hilarious). The rest of it is just … lackluster, at best. IDK, I'm over 40, so maybe I'm just too old to "get it"? I will, however, watch pretty much anything

That Mitchell & Webb Look belongs on this list…

I was really hoping that I just missed a planet named Phteven.
