White is great!

I have white ones ... but they’ve all got a heavy-fill printed pattern on them. Solid white or pastels? NOOOOOPE. Oh man they look so gross so quickly! :( Plus my hair dye rubs off on light colors, so that’s a bad idea all ‘round for me.

I thought that top set was eyeshadows and I was DYINNNNG and SO READY TO CLICK AND PURCHASE. :\

The reviews of those McGrath lipsticks are super compelling, but I just can’t get past that tacky-as-fuck case. WHY ARE WE STILL DOING BLACK PLASTIC WITH CHINTZY GOLD TRIM LIKE IT’S 1987? My prediction : the one good thing that’ll come out of the Tang Ogre’s Reign Of Terrifying Incompetence And Idiocy is that makeup

I have weirdly sensitive eye-area skin, and UD Primer Potion stings a little (as do their shadows), which makes my eyes water, which ruins my shadow despite the primer. I tried a couple of other “good” ones, but they apparently had the same irritating ingredient? AND LO, WTF, e.l.f.’s $2 Shadow Lock primer works great

Emaciation. No wait definitely not that.

I know it’s just a typo, but I *really* like the idea of “Queen Reagent.” All hail Queen Dioxane! LONG LIVE QUEEN AMMONIA II!

ALSO what’s good for this? Regular ol’ face-blotting papers. Muji has really nice ones and they’re like three bucks for a little packet of 200! I keep a stash of those (along with their A++ cut cotton squares) in my bathroom drawer, and the Too Cool For School blotting paper compact in my purse. Necessary, because I’m

PSA : You can get bimatoprost (generic Latisse/Careprost) from Indian pharmacy AllDayChemist for like fifteen bucks each! I use it (on my lashes, not brows) and LOVE it. <3

IT’S SO GOOD. Check occasionally on Sephora and Ulta and on Algenist’s own site — sometimes they have little promos or GWP things where you can pick up a nice-sized mini! Also their Triple-Action Micro Polish stuff is pretty good (it’s not my fave scrubby exfoliator but I do like it) and their tinted moisturizer is

Yeah you’re generally supposed to go lighter/more watery >> heavier / more oily. This stuff is super light, so I usually put it on first, then moisturizer with SPF. (OR, if I’m having a Dry Flaky time, a hyaluronic serum or something, THEN the oil, etc.) It plays really nicely with everything I’ve combined it with!

I have a few of their Audacious lipsticks and they’re nice, but slippier than I like. I DO really really like their older lipstick, esp the semi-sheer ones (I’ve got Gypsy and Manhunt and a third I can’t recall - LOVE). But man the Powermatte is just a SUPER formula.

The Powermatte is liiiiiiike... if you’re familiar with ColourPop’s liquid formulas, I’d say it’s like 75% Ultra Satin and 25% Ultra Matte. It does dry down and set A BIT, but nothing like the hardcore mattes do, and you’ll still get a bit of transfer. But it’s not smear-prone like a lot of [non-matte] liquid

I HAVEN’T but I totally want to! I’ve seen SUCH good reviews of it (I think Temptalia’s super into it) but I’ve been pretty happy with my current stuff so I haven’t gone out of my way to get a sample...

YOU CAN : fill in your whole lips with a matching liner pencil first, then do lipstick. OR : buy a much longer-wearing more-pigmented formula (Bite’s Amuse Bouche, NARS Powermatte, Colour Pop Ultra Satins). OR, go nuts and do one of the many super-long-wear liquid mattes like ColourPop Ultra Matte, Beauty Bakerie,

I wasn’t super into their Rouge Volupte sheers — they feel great and smell great, but it seemed like they wore off or absorbed into my lips in like, 45 minutes? But the Rouge Pur Couture Mattes are pretty fab! Well, one of the two I’ve got (Grenat Satisfaction) is terrific— the other one (slightly darker Prune Virgin)

It’s SO GOOD. Expensive, but a bottle lasts me close to a year, and I can wear it under makeup — it’s a great option if you want an oil type thing but the more common/popular ones jack up your skin.

Have you tried any of the long-wear gloss/stain formulas? The YSL Glossy Stains and Armani Ecstasy Lacquer are both SUPER nice. They wear longer than gloss, longer than the slippier/more emollient type of lipstick, but of course not as long as a matte. SUPER comfortable, super non-drying.

I just “rediscovered” my Algenist Anti-Aging Repairing oil and shiiiiit I’d forgotten how much I love that stuff. It makes my skin feel so freaking velvety AND it’s the only oil I’ve tried that actually does something but doesn’t break me out, AND it makes stuff — picked spots, overzealous-tweezing scabs — heal faster!

The navy one looks like some type of waffle knit. The white one looks like a lightweight woven to me — cotton batiste? or broadcloth? — and the texture is achieved via pintucks and stitched-down pleats and smocking. Maybe?
