As a counterpoint, I saw Liefeld make a group of kids cry at a con when he yelled at them because their line to see the Ninja Turtles in person was interfering with his line. Maybe he was just having a bad day. Maybe not.

I think you and I agree on a lot... I think there are a lot of problems with the show’s writing, I’m indifferent towards a lot of the characters because of writing and performances, but I think Benoist is absolutely great.

Liefeld has always been the earnest, enthusiastic kid of modern comics, even well into middle age. You can’t help but like him and encourage him, which is kind of why he became the artist he did.

Frank Miller is one of the only artists that my affection of his work was completely destroyed by his public persona. Usually I can seperate the art from the artist, but I hate him.

I had a buddy who writes for IDW who gets constantly mistaken for him. We ran into Liefeld at NYCC and they took a selfie together. He was a pretty good sport about it. Not a fan but they guy has persevered.

CBS is just weird. In the case of Limitless I’d guess it’s because of the State of the Union address since that might hit Limitless on the east coast, but not sure why there’s no new Supergirl tonight.

From TFA:

You fool! You squandered that luck, now you’ll never win the lottery.

Wow... didn’t know about the Lobdell thing. Just looked it up... What a douche. Why was he at a panel for queer comics when he’s like the total opposite? What happened? Gonna look up how Todd Mac is a self-absorbed twat...

I was working “guest relations” at a large summer comic convention in 1994. Liefeld was a guest. there was a little girl about 7-8 years old who REALLY wanted to be a comic artist....and had a sketchbook of her art, and had stood inline for over a half hour to try and get Liefeld to look at her work and give her any

True, but it tends to indicate low confidence— i.e., maximizing showings per weekend because they’re expecting major drop-off after the first weekend.

I got about as far as the first major antagonist going down (the series seemed to spin its wheels a bit after that and I got behind). A lot of what might be complained about with the Arabian fables would be down to them not being depictions of Muslim per se (there’s very little explicit mention of religion in the

Right, he was what, in his very early 20s when he got X-Force? At the height of bad girlism. At least his female characters were covered in pouches.

You know, the best part of that Image Revolution documentary, was probably Liefeld’s frequent imitations of McFarlane’s apoplectic yet Rain Man-esque rants..

I can’t stand his art, but Ive run into him a few times, and he did come off as a decent guy (and me much less so, as he over-heard me trash talking him. I felt bad.)

And he invented Prophet, which is (now) an incredible comic.

Hell, when Liefeld actually puts effort into his work, he’s a damn good artist. I have a feeling that the Liefeld just rushed half the time and that’s the Liefeld we know.

He’s pretty interesting in person. He comes off as very affable and genuinely passionate about having worked in the comics industry for so long. I’ve heard he can butt heads with other creators quite a bit though. (Stephen Platt comes to mind)

Damn it, Bricken. It’s an amazing piece of work, but you know the rules: Do Not Encourage Liefeld.
