But them looking like the Village People is half the battle... I mean half the fun. I know Hollywood loves to homogenize costumes within a group - the X-Men are a great example - but I think that’s a huge mistake. People love the cast of GI Joe, X-Men, Street Fighter, etc. because they varied and diverse.

I really like both Alien 3 (Assembly Cut) and Resurection. I even like the first AVP.

So I’ve recently started playing the G.I Joe Deck-Buolding Game with friends, it’s fun, so I decided to check out the Snake Eyes movie they made a couple years ago.

Now playing

Oh, almost forgot it was July 4th today. Time to listen the speech again

I’m not sure we should be guilty about it. Independence Day is very well crafted spectacle with likeable main characters, great visuals, an inspiring message, and a lot of well-intentioned goofiness. So it’s not a deep philosophical look at the human condition, but even Plato needed to take a break from thinking from

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I loved Honor Among Thieves and am not advocating from a serious He-Man movie. I’m just saying that as a non-fan, MotU always appeared to me as a franchise that took itself seriously. Whenever my older cousins would talk about it, they used the same tone they would for Lord of the Rings.

Considering Hollywood has been pumping big budget spectacle based on known IP since its very beginning, I see no evidence they are going to stop.

Man, so much pretentious bullcrap from Mattel. “emotional, grounded, gritty”, “prestige-y” “asks pointed questions about our place in the universe” - dude, they’re movies about toys. It’s ok to say “this will be silly entertaining action flick”.

I’m not super familiar with MotU, but how is it in any way similar to Honor Among Thieves? I was under the impression that to its fan, MotU was a very serious franchise, worthy only of a Lord of the Rings or John Millius Conan the Barbarian style fantasy epic.

I’ll be honest, I know very little about Barney. I think I was a smidge too old for it. I remember my brother bringing some plushies back from our trip to Orlando, but I can’t remember if it actually aired on local channels, or if we just caught an episode here and there on the smattering of English channels we

Yes, but on the CW, every one is a teenager until said otherwise. It's in their bylaws.

I’m 34, and that pitch for a Barney movie sounds absolutely awful. First off, if I want a dark satirical takedown to Barney, I’ll rewatch Death to Smoochie. But more than that, Barney was a show for little kids, and as such, any nostalgia I have for it is tied into nostalgia for being a little kid. A cynical version

It’s me, it’s my fault, I didn’t go see it this week. I just wasn’t in the mood for going out this week-end. And since there’s nothing next week (or the week after, because I’m not convinced I’ll go see that M:I movie in theater), I felt no urgency to go see it this week-end.

Nah, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have let my frustration out on you. I aplreciate what hou were doing. My bad.

Good lord, you are like the 4th person bringing up ante to me. Can you not read the thread you are responding too?

Ante was removed from the rules in 1995 and all cards that refers to it banned.

Ante was part of the game for only 2 years. Out of 30. It got completly taken out in 1995, and no cards referring it is legal in any format.

Yes, that can happen - I have held a binder of cards from a player that was worth thousands of dollars. Players who do that tend to watch their binders like a hawk.

While that is true, that rule lasted about 2 years, top. Very, very few players ever played with it. And none of the old ante cards are playable in any official format now.
