So it’s a movie about a violent vigilante with a low-key supernatural connection with animals. A kind of John Wick imitator with a small twist. Ok, that’s not a bad premis...

Beowulf was a fun momemt in time.

Honestly, I think that Zaslav might intend to sell WB for parts anyway, no excuse needed.

I’ve not seen the three superhero movie/show you mention, so I can’t comment on those. My favourite superhero movie ever is Captain America: The First Avenger. My favourite superhero tv show ever is Gotham, because it’s bonkers and hilarious.

The one thing that always goes unsaid about Stan Lee and what hecreally contribution is that Stan Lee’s real masterpiece wasn’t Spider-Man or Fantastic Four. It was the Marvel brand. Stan Lee made Marvel into no just a company, but a community you wanted to be a part of. He gave the various artist and writers

I mean, they compare Lee to the organization which commissioned Michaelangelo’s David (which is based on a biblical character/story) Fully implying that Lee did nothing but pay the real artist to do all the work.

But I thought it was the best superhero movie ever? Are you telling me James Gunn was biased and not a trustworthy source? No way!

I’ve only seen the Flash and it’s not awful, but man is it a hot mess. Some spoilers below.

Assigned Male at Birth.

I'm sorry. I tried my best, but maybe I should have just gone with a spoiler warning up top. My bad.

I had problems with the movie, but I don’t think Muschietti is to blame. It’s obvious different parts of the movie were written at vastly different times, and no director can fix that.He did the best he could.

(Warning - heavy spoilers throughout)

Yeah, that’s something that got me too - it’s not a Flash movie. It’s a DC event movie. A bit like Captain America Civil War wasn’t really a Cap movie. But at least in that case, you had two full movie of Captain America beforehand, and he appeared in two group features. We’ve seen Flash only in one group feature.

Eh, it didn’t bother me too much. The whole structure of the ending is bizarre and comes out of nowhere, but if you’re going to throw cameos around, at least give me something I’ve never actually seen, like that story brought to life. If you’re going for member berries, I prefer something obscure and a bit creative,

Having classic non-powered 1960s Gwen coming in and actually being given something to do would be great.

The Flash isn’t bad, but it’s also really all over the place. It starts really badly, with a whiny main character and mean-spirited jokes, gets better, and then gets weird at the end. It became very clear to me early on that some bits of the movie were written very far apart in time from others.

How are ballet shoes a trans thing? Like I’m genuinely asking, because I never heard that before. I don’t think it’s that odd a design choice - you have a female character who is supposed to be acrobatic and graceful - ballet shoes seems pretty appropriate to me, no matter if she’s cis or trans. What am I missing?

Jury is still out if the movie will be good or not, but man did they hit the ball out of the park with the production design. The amount of thought they put into how to translate the aesthetic from playsets into actual movie sets is genuinely impressive.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, that the scene with Aquaman was later, after he took a bunch of peeks between universes.
