In the old Dark Horse comics that explored a similar period, they had the Jedi wield corded lightsabers, i.e. lightsabers that were attached by a cable to some sort of battery pack on their belt. I always thought that was a nifty idea.

My layman eyes honestly don’t really see that much of a difference in quality between the lush CG environments in Subnautica or Horizon Forbidden West and those in Avatar. Sure, I’m sure in terms of pure mechanics Avatar is better, but as a complete work, I’m as immersed in the world of Subnautica as in that Avatar. So…
Maro is right in a general sense, but wrong on this from a branding sense (which is not his department, so no hard feelings toward Maro) . The MLP cards were published before “Universe Beyond” was a thing. Since the brand did not exist, they aren’t UB cards. Likewise, the DnD sets were not branded Universe Beyond -…
Well, considering one of the reason I was pretty indifferent to Avatar 2 was that I could the same lush landscapes in something like Horizon Forbidden West or Subnautica but actually play in them, I guess I need to be consistent: this does look like the best way to experience Avatar.
“But in making that the conflict, rather than further exploring Spider-Man’s historic relationship with the NYPD, Across awkwardly reframes Spider-Man’s anti-authoritarian subtext into something more broadly nebulous instead of specifically about the hero’s waxing and waning relationship with the police.”
The thing with superhero stories is : they do not take place in the real world. They take place in a world where vigilantism works and makes sense. And enjoying the stories of such a world does not mean one has to approve vigilantism in the real world. Just like people love high fantasy stories of Kings and Princes,…
Right I forgot the Transformers ones. They weren’t their own set, though, they were cross-marketing promos in Brother War’s set boosters.
Just saw it this afternoon. It’s fine.
So it’s gonna be the same cookie-cutter Ubisoft sandbox, but with a Star Wars skin?
While I’ve been critical of Universe Beyond, I don’t think it has anything to do with making tgeir own Endgame - all Universe Beyond IP so far are not IPs Hasbro own - they simply licensed them for a Magic set. But tbat does not allow them to feature WH4k or Lord of the Rings or Doctor Who in a movie.
Just back from the movie. Honestly, from all the talk about the shocking ending, I was expecting way more than a logo on a business card teasing a hypothefical movie that may never happen.
To be fair, none of the Transformers movie match up with the ones before them in terms of continuity, so I can’t fault people for assuming this one still pretends to be in the same timeline despite all the contradictions, since all the ones beforehand did that too.
I’m curious, but that cover is...rough. Black Canary’s face in particular is really off. If this is indicative of the interior art, I might skip.
Another theory - what if Venom is Peter? We know from the gameplay reveal that Peter gets the symbiote and starts becoming real violent, and at the very end of that video his eye shift into Venom’s. So what if Peter goes a lot farther than usual before Miles is able to get the symbiote off him?
Lol. Kathleen Kennedy doesn’t know who you are, and doesn’t care about you and your online friends’ little vendetta against her. Your hate-boner for her is just pathetic. Grow up and stop hating a woman you don’t even know and who hasn’t harmed you in any way. And no, producing some movies you didn’t like is not…
I don!t really want to get too deep into it, but very quickly:
I will admit I never read that far in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I read the first 2 volumes and really did not like it. It had all of Moore’s weakness (the overuse of rape as a plot point, the old man yelling at society, the disdain for current pop culture) with very little of his strength.
Ah, you gotta love the trailer for Final Cut - make sure no one talks so nobody notice the movie is not in English! Also known as the Pan’s Labyrinth trick.
Attack of the Clones has a coherent plot?
Obi-Wan could be any age though. He’s a wizard, and wizard classically live a supernaturally long time. Even Yoda was able to live 400 (600? 800?) years, and he credits the force for that.
