The “problem” the Jedi purge always had is that it was clearly initially set up in A New Hope as something that happened over a very long period of time, and the time were there were 100 000 Jedi in the galaxy is very far in the rear view mirror. It’s very much a fantasy concept of lost golden age.

I think Rise of Skywalker gets more hate because it’s newer. I think the level of hate for Phatom Menace in 2002 was about the same as Rise of Skywalker, minus the megaphone effect of the internet. But by now, many people have calmed down and grown up and thus the hatred has subsidized and rational criticism has

I have not seen a single review say that. They aren’t impressed by the movie, but I saw no actual critic review that truly hated it to that degree. Sources?

You can most likely skip it, but honestly? It’s no worse than Temple of Doom. It has a few interesting elements, Cate Blanchett is a fun villain, for one, and it’s fun to see Marion again. Is it great? No. Is it an unholy abomination? No.

Oh, so it's not just me? I thought for sure it was my shoddy ears who made me miss most of Gwen intro, but I am to haply to hear it wasn't!

At least a couple of those will be very entertaining. If anything, Snyder is very good at casting female action roles. He gas no idea what to do with them, but he knows how to cast them.

Your Mummy example doesn’t make any sense. The problem with Maria Bello isn’t that she doesn’t look like Rachel Weisz, it’s that she lacked chemistry with Fraser and Hannah, and that the script gave her nothing to do.

There will also be a bit of Pratchett in there in that they had developped the rought outline of the sequel together. And of course, his ghost haunted the set and played practical jokes on everyone.

Spoilers below!!

As someone in that demo, I feel a tad confused that Cameron think Neytiri having or not having breasts will change my decision to see or not see Avatar. Do people really make movie choices based on that? Like, if al I really wanted to see is blue tits, there are easier sources than Avatar. Do you know how much blue

He would also absolutely be my pick for another Heavy Metal movie.

I mean, Seven Samurai + Star Wars is just Battle Beyond the Stars, isn’t it?

Man, if I shot everybody who rung my doorbell at 10pm asking for someone who doesn't live here, I would have killed at the very least 5 people in less than a year.

Yeah, Michael Bay is getting a bit of a reevaluation, and I think it’s somewhat deserved: a lot of his movies aren’t very good, but they are all very interesting, with a distinct voice. And to be fair, only his Transformers flick are truly garbage.  I think the Transformers franchise just wasn’t a good fit for him. It

this is a Prime that doesn’t care about Earth and humans. He only cares about his people. And that gives the character places to go that the other Transformers films have never been able to, or cared to, explore.”

Yeah, even Pauline Kael wrote something similar:

Yeah, I’ll believe that Miles Morales live-action movie when I see a trailer. Of course Pascal is going to say there are plans in a press junket. What did you thinm she would say “Nope, we have no plans whatsoever because I have no creative vision of any kind and I just do what the latest chart I saw says"? It might

I am surprised they haven’t made a reference to the 90s series yet. They snuck a Spectacular Spider-Man clip in there, but no 90s animated Spidey. Maybe it's a rights thing?

I was really, really, really, really good.

That’s not what I remember reading. From what I remember, Quesada mandated the change because he was uncomfortable with the idea that Peter had had sex out of wedlock. But I may be midtaken. I also don’t remember if Quesada mandated Norman, or simply somebody other than Peter.
