Do you want to know how truly batshit crazy, cackle-out-loud insane this situation is?

Nice article.

Thanks the US for their leadership as climate change deniers and corporate slaves! We are so lucky to have you!

The thing that drives me nuts about this whole argument is pretty simple.

It was forgivable 100 years ago. With the benefit of hindsight, not so much. I played contact sports for years but I guess I never got hit in the head hard enough.

To be fair, for a struggling millennial it’s easy to be seduced by Marxist ideas. Something like the communist manifesto was meant to rile people up, Marx himself goes back on some of the radical ideas in that document later in life. Engels really hits the manifesto hard in later forewords.

This message only applies to a specific subset of Americans. Specifically, the subset that enjoys the smell of their own farts. Unfortunately, that subset is too far up their own ass to receive your message.

This shit is my number 1 reason for not having kids. Why the hell would I want to bring anybody into this world when our illustrious leaders have proven over and over again that they don’t actually give a fuck about trying to halt climate change? They want their money now and can worry about the environment when

If you think about what conservative ideology is, in theory, built upon—self-sustainability, the rule of law, personal responsibility—Republicans should be extremely angry that their tax dollars are frequently spent cleaning up the messes caused by the private sector. These are called externalities, and there’s an

Dear America!

Capitalism is very good at finding an efficient way to do something, we just need to be better at telling it what we want/what our goals are. If we can dictate saving the environment as a priority through legislation, capitalism would be very good at finding the best way to do it.

You’re confusing hopelessness with my suggestion of helplessness. In college, a homeless man once told me the only type of person who can be helped is the person who knows how to help themselves. It’s not a fight we are in for since climate change isn’t war. The climate is a balance in self preservation. We don’t need

The problem is it would help future business while old businesses like coal and oil are the ones giving money to Republican politicians.

We might very well step out of the way but we are standing on a tressel.

What do they think the economic consequences are going to be when California burns to the ground?

Capitalism is a suicide pact. It took a little over 200 years, but we’re getting there.

“It will devastate the US economy” is GOP code speak for “It will make some of the super wealthy slightly less rich.”

The way we talk about Sandy Hook and gun control is going to be how we describe Paradise and climate change. A whole goddamn town gone and we as a society can’t get everybody on board to do something about it.

The funny thing, from one of the climate reports editors on NPR this morning, is that changing to a green economy is one of the few guaranteed way to grow the economy. Pretty much invalidating arguments on how addressing climate change would devistate the economy.

The business executives and investors and politicians who cooperate in this system are not stupid. Many of them are very intelligent. They know what is happening. They just don’t care.
