I spotted him before he spotted me, and walked slowly past him, giving him the chance to speak first.

But Vogue's approach to its cover subjects is anathema to the objectives of feminism - that women be judged by their merit. The magazine's rampant re-touching of its cover subjects through the years strives for and creates an artificial standard of beauty that ignores any actual merit, and skews whatever "dreams" of…
I'm a big Twilight Zone fan, and yet I have never seen that one before! Just watched the entire episode. Thanks for sharing it and on this post, I was moved by it.
The whole thing is confusing, and raises questions as to how far cops are legally permitted to keep cover and what (if any) crimes they are allowed to commit undercover. Doing drugs while acting an undercover narc I suppose I don't have an issue with; but attacking law-abiding citizens while undercover is just plain…
The article seems to indicate that it was actually both - that he was an undercover officer who was off-duty at the time.
As long as it's not "Wojo"
It doesn't appear to be entirely true, as described there. The bikers were evidently trying to attack Lien's wife, but I don't think it appears that they could have grabbed her arms. If you notice, her window is smashed, but not broken. So unlikely they were grabbing her arms based on that description.
That's the thing. I was so let down by Prometheus that I practically did not care about a sequel. If by some slim chance it is awesome, I'm sure I will hear about it and I can get the DVD. As for the question as to where the ship was going, it didn't really intrigue me for two reasons - 1) as I explained, I didn't…
I 100% agree. My example is not as obvious as yours, but for me, I have only had one cavity in my entire life (and well into adulthood) — despite flossing only about a dozen times over my entire life. It's not something that I am proud of; but it makes me fairly certain that if there hadn't been a genetic factor at…
Not to mention, Episode VII itself is said to draw from already published SW novels, so in addition to HG2, a lot of the work is already out there & written.
I was just going to make that point about Venus. Its Earth-like size may give it an atmosphere, but a +800*F temperature on its surface would render it anything but "Earth-like."
Have you read the book-version of Alien? It's actually a great read, from my recollection of reading it at age 13 or so. (http://www.amazon.com/Alien-Novel-Alan-Dean-Foster/product-reviews/0446829773). I believe it may have been an unusual publication as well, in that it was published a few months after the movie's …
Lando- you made some excellent points that I overall agree with. I just want to address the "warning" signal you pointed out in Alien. It's been a while since I saw the movie, but here was my impression of that plot point: My take on it was that the Company did not definitively know what the signal meant, but their…
I just read this entire exchange. I agree with Lando and he summarized my criticism with Prometheus very capably, I want to try to address your point on the scientist.
I'm an Alien/Aliens fan. All of the praise of Alien and criticism of Prometheus found in this thread I agree with - so my two cents will be brief.
