Surprisingly, despite my a long history of making bad romantic decisions, I don’t really have any food-related horror stories. Mostly, they’re all, “We went to dinner, and I never saw or heard from her again.” The better stories are all alcohol-related.

It’s been a while since I worked at McDonald’s, so the company may have changed things up a little since then, but the bigger issue is that tenth-pound patties also shrank significantly during cooking. You’re probably getting a twentieth of a pound of meat by the time it comes off the grill.

Edit: Realized too late that someone already posted the same one.

Except working in fast food actually does require skills. Knowing what to cook and when is a skill. Making sandwiches quickly and accurately is a skill. Keeping your cool during a rush is a skill. And not just anyone can be trusted to reliably show up for their shifts on time and sober.

One problem I ran into is that too many owners believe that because those jobs are technically unskilled, all employees are interchangeable. Anyone can drop frozen patties on a grill and pull the lever, so why treat them like anything other than cogs in a wheel?

If the two people who started the brewery eventually leave, can it still be called Founders?

That’s part of the reason I barely buy any fruit. I mean, we don’t even use the frozen fruit we buy every time we decide to try making breakfast smoothies again. Why would I think I could eat an entire thing of strawberries before it goes bad?

Society’s in a weird place right now.

I’m not sure how many people would eat these together, but I think I’d go with Kenji’s double-grilled grilled cheese and his three-ingredient mac and cheese. The idea being that we’re using only a few ingredients to make something that’s way better than the cheap/lazy version they’re used to.

Update on the update: Despite multiple attempts, I still have not been able to try the Popeyes chicken sandwich. Which means I’ve been eating a good bit of Popeyes fried chicken instead.

On the other hand, if you force yourself to learn to tolerate room temperature beer, you never have to worry about your roommates drinking your beer.

The only pumpkin spice product I have any interest in this fall.

I say just take this as permission to buy something on the cheap side. We’ve had this one for years, and it’s been great. Definitely recommend the 12-inch, but I have yet to sleep on another mattress that makes me regret getting buying the $300 Amazon one.

Kentucky Mule >>> Moscow Mule

I’d argue it really depends on what benefits you can use on a regular basis. I’ve had the CSR since it came out, but now that I live in LA and fly Delta almost exclusively, I have a hard time getting much value out of it since Priority Pass options at LAX are limited.

I’d argue it really depends on what benefits you can use on a regular basis. I’ve had the CSR since it came out, but

I really thought UGA would be higher on these lists.

Update: Went to Popeye’s for lunch. That location did not have the chicken sandwich. I was forced to eat regular fried chicken in non-sandwich form. It was still good.

What can I say? Whiskey is good.

Last I checked, Natty Ice is 5.9%. So at 6.0%, this stuff has slightly more alcohol.

Thank you for making that happen.
