Now it'll be the price of a new Corolla

Show car, sure. Race car, hell no. Way cooler if it crosses the line

I mean... Yeah. That’s what a stock car is. It's not necessarily a super complicated thing, but it's still a race car that looks cooler than usual

Came here to say this. I daily a heavily modded Mk6 GTI that’s getting too fast for its britches, so I wanted to get a daily to keep stock(ish). This is what I'm looking at.

RIP 2dr GTI 😔

And yet none of his “dodgy things” ever put a driver into a wall at 180mph. Best I’ll do is concede that they’re equally hot-headed and this was a clash of two careless drivers—very much in the spirit of F1, mind you—that could’ve ended very badly.

I think it was a bullshit move. But if, in Hamilton’s own words, he was racing “fairly,” then my take is I feel like Verstappen shouldn’t pull punches and should feel free to do the exact same thing to Hamilton next time.

New Mazda3, Veloster N, or any Mk7 GTI/R. I say Mk7 or later because I own a Mk6 GTI. You should not own a Mk6 GTI. (Note: I’m deeply in love with my GTI, but the first gen of the EA888 had some bad flaws, such as the water pump, timing chain tensioner, PCV failure, RMS leakage. Mk7 had the second and third gen

The new crop is actually really impressive. I mean for gods sake Russell dragged a hybrid Williams to Q3! Norris and LeClerc are front-row contenders, Tsunoda shows promise (if a bit rough) and Gasly is finally finding his stride, and Verstappen is leading the WDC.

If they want to change the pit stops they should be waiting until next year. New rules, new car, fine. But this is blatantly an attempt from Mercedes and their engine buyers McLaren to suggest the opposite of safety, caring only for the championship. Point me to the last Red Bull pit wall safety problem. Uh huh. Now

I was gutted when I saw Verstappen crash. Sure, I’m definitely a fan of his, but more importantly it meant another step towards Hamilton being champion.

I like seeing people do different, weird things with their cars. Hell, I literally hacked up a spare pair of doors and drive my GTI around with skeleton doors in the summer. Unique customization is crucial to promoting car culture as a whole.

GTI, MINI Cooper, Fiesta ST, Miata. And I know you said no Focus, but a Fiesta isn’t technically a Focus ;)

Definitely more time to grow

This is not gonna end the way we want it to

Lifted trucks, squatting JDM, cammed muscle, scraping golfs. The cliche mod I love is watching people love their cars.

This is very video game-y and I like it. Literally like using power-ups.

You might’ve single-handedly convinced me on a Mk7 R.

There are so many disrespectful assholes in the comments it’s truly saddening. The only silver lining is seeing all the people coming to defend VT.

My first thought was Mk6 Golf TDI, but you’re gonna lose a little reliability and while parts aren’t awfully expensive, service you can’t do yourself is. My GTI is in the shop for timing chain service and it’s going to be well over 1k (I botched the job myself and left it sitting so some rust removal is necessary).
