Yep. Asked my mechanic how I could go about it legally and he said unless it literally rolled off the line without doors it's not legal. Makes me curious how people like Cleetus MacFarland can run his stripped Corvette legally.

That’s what I thought would be the only thing I was doing illegally, but come to find out when I asked the cop he said that you only need a rear view in my state (NH). It’s the lack of “factory-equipped safety features” (doors) that surprised me.

Messing around on my car one day, repairing my fender where a ladder that got kicked up on the highway had ricocheted off it and took out my mirror, when I said “Why not?” And took off my doors. Drove it around with no doors, fenders, or front bumper for a couple hours and it was tons of fun. Got pulled over, and the

Sooo... When do we get the DougScore? 😁

Yeah, my problem also had nothing to do with it point open. It's notched, so you have to press the team in, then pull it to the side to undo it. And I'm definitely repurchasing one

I actually had one on my car that blew out while I was driving and dumped all my oil out of my car. Luckily I had someone who could bring me some oil and a new plug, and it works fine.

Sorry. I whole heatedly agree with you on the lack of added power, and the lack of necessity for added power, but the torque dip 100% needs to be fixed. This car is buttery smooth, except for that. I’ve driven a buddy’s GT86 frequently and I’m in love but I’m truly disappointed by the torque curve.

This... This is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen. I dearly love hatchbacks and and Miatas and would buy this in a heartbeat

Just saying, making it electric neither lightens nor simplifies the car. And adding lightness only goes so far before you simply cannot go faster. I agree with that sentiment but if your goal simply cannot be reached on your current platform, then go bigger, then lighten.

Yikes, it seems like I’m one of a very small number of Jalops that likes it, minus the bar on the grill (if it was flat in depth and shape it would look far nicer). The looks are killer and IMO well worth the $100k tag, especially touting an engine encroaching on nearly double the stock numbers. I hope the interior

I told a coworker I had an aftermarket turbo because I had a loose something on my engine that would make a whistling noise that, admittedly, sounded similar to a turbo spooling up to an unknowing bystander.

Here’s my thoughts, since everyone is giving theirs. No one, from his fanboys to his haters, can deny Musk is a visionary. Whether he delivers, there’s not enough data to form an opinion one way or another. But he’s here, saying he can achieve yet another enormous hurdle.

Are you sure that’s not a Scion tC? I can’t quite tell

That took me way too long to see. I saw that 1st, 6th, and reverse were correct, and didn’t notice the rest.

Nah. 6 speed. I’m someone who LOVES to drive around in low gears, ready to blip the throttle and chuckle a little. But when I’m sitting on the highway for 2 hours (which I do pretty occasionally) I want a 6th gear. Sometimes I’ll be content if, on that same road, I only use 3rd and 4th (4th can reach 90ish for me).

So wait, are the customers buying the cars or buying the opportunity to drive the cars? Because 2mil for an FXX sounds like a god damn bargain

That smoldering wreck still looks better than the Stinger/Porsche/McLaren Franken-car that the article is about

Here’s some little notes I feel are important:

Ford Fiesta, Scion tC, Honda Fit. These are cars that are surprisingly spunky for FWD econoboxes. I can only personally vouch for one of these, however. And I will always recommend the tC as a high school/college car because it’s reliable, somewhat sporty-looking (if you squint real hard), and it feels surprisingly
