It really is sad that the era of Prestige TV killed off all attempts at Just Good Enough TV.

“As for the story itself...there isn’t one.”
This story (and many others making the rounds) just seem to speak more to collective cultural illiteracy than anything about Oldman.
There’s no story here.
On the plus side, I did get to see that title image of him, where he looks like bewildered ex-despot on trial at the Hague.
People need to chill. He’s a professional, he can feel whatever work of his he wants is mediocre. He didn’t even criticize the films (which, to be frank, have lots to criticize, the third one accepted), he just said his performance was mediocre. I disagree, but he’s the artist.
Then again, why ask internat fans to…
I never watched a single second of Walker, but I did see endless commercials for it while watching the other CW shows so I feel like i know most of the plot of the four seasons. But the cancellation makes me a little sad, as it really is the end of an era, one that I loved but still maybe didn’t fully appreciate. Much…
they also cater to the most insane disney fans, who have a whole cottage industry based around being insane disney fans.
She reminds Lorne of Gilda, and I think he still feels some guilt about how poorly Gilda’s post-SNL career went, as well as sadness over her untimely death. She’s his favorite, and gets treated as such.
it was genuinely cool that leaked footage led to the making of the first deadpool movie, this just looks like he’s shadowboxing the internet. also is the video at 2x speed? i know he’s a motormouth but i found the pace made me almost panicky.
As a 40 year old parent of two, I’ve noticed that there seems to be a market for young adults with a massive amount of expendable income, and I’m just sitting here wondering if I need to cancel my Netflix account to save $15 a month.
I wanna be snarky but, minus the LARPing elements, the hotel sounds like something I would’ve dreamed of and loved to go to as a kid. I haven’t watched the video yet so I can’t speak to where Disney cut corners, but I suspect that child me wouldn’t have cared. If the hotel had been priced at least somewhat affordably…
I weirdly fall in between.
I’ve long thought that one obvious change Lucas could have made would’ve been to kill off Padme earlier and make the anguish and loneliness that Anakin feels be what pushes him over the edge. Having him be manipulated to slaughtering the Jedi—including children—because he fears she’ll die like his mommy--just makes…
The leadup to Phantom Menace coming out was so electric for a twelve year-old such as myself. Growing up through the late 80s and 90s, there was so little Star Wars content beyond toys and action figures. I’d eat up every EU book, rent every tangentially-related work (looking at you Ewok Movie and Caravan of Courage),…
It’s an interesting idea, for sure, but once you have George Lucas involved with the script, you know it won’t be executed well. The man can do great world-building, like James Cameron in Avatar, or JK Rowling for Harry Potter, but after that it’s pretty crap.
This show started out as a guilty pleasure for me and has evolved over time into something else: a genuinely different supernatural/crime drama that doesn’t patronize its audience, blends case of the week and series/season arcs deftly and has developed its characters effectively. I found Lahti insufferable in her…
I discovered this show 3 months ago and binged everything in 2 weeks, something that never happens to me. Really great, fun, intelligent and weird. I think season 1 was the best because it was the most ambiguous, after that I don’t think there is a lot of ambiguity regarding the reality or not of the supernatural…
The only gripe I have with this show are some dropped plotlines, such as one of the daughters suddenly having fangs and a tail, then nothing more about then. Maybe that will be addressed in S4? I love the cast, particularly Ben and Leland. Can’t wait for it to return!
