That’s fair. I liked Ms. Marvel generally, so I kind of hand-waved it away as the combination of the bangle with her being a mutant unlocked these powers. Thinking about it now though, I am not sure that actually makes sense.

Fair point.
Agreed. I know this gets really dicey, but I would love to see Silver step in and address what happened here. It is pretty clear, at least from the outside, that Harden picked up the player option with no intention to ever play for Philly. That’s what free agency is for: contract is up, you get to go negotiate a new…
Agree on all counts. I was actually happy to see that Houston team lose because I hate Harden’s style (the league clamping down even a bit on those fouls he used to exploit has made the game better) and I wanted to see Chris Paul get some karma after he used his position in the union president to change some rules and…
I didn’t even really think of Secret Invasion having anything to do with The Marvels. To me it really just established that superspy Nick Fury was less “superspy” and more “exploiter of shapeshifters”. Like, it recontextualizes Fury from the guy in charge who knows things to an extremely lucky guy who has no issue…
I understand your point, but respectfully disagree. He forced his way onto the Nets team to play with his buddies despite the fact that KD was an injury risk already (he signed that Nets contract and skipped the first year rehabbing) and Kyrie is a crazy person. I believe the rumors that he was pissed at Kyrie…
Marvel seems to have hit an inflection point, though not necessarily with Echo. The corporate appeal of the connected universe is that people who might not normally watch Ant-Man will because it is part of the MCU. And people will give less-than-good movies like Eternals a shot for the same reason. On the other hand…
“But through it all, a championship evaded the duo, and it appears to be their individual pursuits of a championship that have torn the two apart.”
I knew many people who were turned off by it because they did not see the pilot, but then ended up loving it when they saw it on DVD. It really is a show that rewards people who watched it from Day 1 and just came out at a time when DVRs/Tivo/On Demand/Streaming were not common enough to let someone catch up if they…
It is wild to me that the guys who directed a number of AD and Community episodes would go on to direct The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Endgame.
Personally, this is more evidence confirming that my decision not to use DoorDash is the correct one for me personally. I know there are people out there using it (this article would not exist otherwise) and good for them, but I don’t have that kind of money to blow.
I’ve mentioned this on some other post about True Lies and I know it is problematic, but I *still* reference the bit where Tom Arnold says something like “I came home, she took everything. She even took the ice cube trays out the freezer. What kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?”
I was late to Letterkenny (I got into it right after Season 9 was available in the US) and I enjoyed it for the most part. That said, count me among those who believe it has run its course. I wouldn’t say that the later seasons were weaker necessarily, just that every season became more of the same.
This.
This. I am much more confident that Johnson is blatantly not disclosing his holdings for reasons that make sense only to him, rather than that he has no money.
Kevin Smith has a great bit (I forget where - How Did This Get Made?, maybe) where he talks about screening a film to a test audience. The problem is that they see the movie, make suggestions, those changes are made... and then a completely different test group sees the re-cut film. So now the new group is confused…
Honestly, I am not surprised. Given that The Takeout just ran an article called something like “Why does handmade pasta cost $30?”, it’s pretty easy to see the appeal of Olive Garden’s generous portions for a low price. Throw in some fringe stuff (consistency across locations for travelers, likely ease of getting a…
He looks like someone fucked up blending Dana Carvey’s turtle impression from Master of Disguise and Jeremy Irons in Photoshop.
“If you can’t lie about your height, how can we trust you to be dishonest about all the other stuff?”
The crazy thing is that I am sure he would infinitely prefer to defend his height (to quote George Costanza, “It is not a lie if you believe it is true”) than field questions like “your brand of fascism is immensely unpopular with other fascists across the US. Is it more of an indictment on you that other Nazis find…
