Specter and the City.
Specter and the City.
hot taek: my biggest issue with the Man from UNCLE was the casting. I like Cavill in general and this was before Hammer was a psycho, but I just found them to have no chemistry and to be pretty unlikable in their roles. Maybe that was by design as I never saw the show, but it was tough to get into it. But other than…
I didn’t see Bros, but when I think of Billy Eichner I think of Billy on the Street, his character in Parks and Rec and his turn as a tech bro in AHS: Apocalypse. When your most measured performance is in AHS, that is going to be a tough sell. I am not sure I wanted to go see a 90 minute movie that prominently…
Echoing the chorus here that trump is a piece of shit that should die angry and alone in jail.
The first two Charlie’s Angels movies were energetic, campy, fun popcorn movies that were perfectly acceptable wastes of a few hours. The trailer for the reboot looked like a humorless, generic slog.
Growing up in the 80s/90s, we started eating around 5:30 and were wrapped up by 6:15/6:30. Now, my family starts dinner at 6:30 and occasionally we eat after the kids go to bed if we couldn’t get our shit together in time. I attribute this to the internet especially blurring the work/personal lives, as well as a…
You bring up some interesting points. Of these 36 movies, by my count 19 were original IP, 13 were based on existing IP (a lot of books, surprisingly) and 4 are sequels. That’s wild.
Laying off workers in order to fund a lavish lifestyle seems like it would be attractive to gop voters, no? I imagine once the funds run out, it will be the Dems fault for their regulation and rules, or something.
Hard agree. I have no idea what is going on with this season but it is not very good. I would have rather spent 16 episodes or whatever in Rivervale and only like 5 in this 1950s setup. There are really only a handful of episodes left until the series finale and it is shocking this is how they are choosing to use them.
As someone who grew up in the 90s, this was a nice trip down memory lane, even if it is in shitty slideshow format. One comment on Speed - I am not sure that movie could be made today as is. Everyone plays this movie straight (with the exception of Dennis Hopper, in pure pissed off crazy mode) despite the incredibly…
Oh man. I thought I saw where they were going with this, but “Hans Gruber and Scooby-Doo”? How close to the air was that was submitted and approved out of desperation?
Yeah, I agree.
Increasingly, whenever musk does something I think of that line from Austin Powers when Dr. Evil is talking about his father and says “he would make extravagant claims, like he invented the question mark”. Not that musk’s kids will turn into Dr. Evil, but I can see one of them saying this unironically.
Spider-Man - I would be pretty surprised if Raimi did another Spider-Man movie in that part of he multiverse. He did Dr. Strange 2, but I just get the sense he would rather work on stuff that is meaningful/interesting to him for the most part, even if it is as a producer rather than the person behind the camera. I…
Replace “NBC” with “HBO” and “1997" with “2015".
I’ve never heard of Manta Labs, but I am sure I will be talking about them in the same breath as Juicero and Theranos for years to come.
Riverdale - the trip back to the 50s would have been fine for a few episodes, but most of S7 has taken place there and I am over it. We’re headed towards the series finale and the whole last season has been some weird deviation that honestly, has not been doing it for me. If this had been season 4 or if there was a…
This is the state that almost put Roy Moore in the senate - for all I know, this guy is a fucking hero down there.
For a guy I never heard of until a few weeks ago, Matt Healy is certainly intent on me getting to know him for a bunch of odd reasons.
That struck me as a bit odd as well.
