I disagree that trapping is the most effective - hogs are very indiscriminate in what they eat. I just think many people see poison as inhumane. This population lends itself to poison because they eat indiscriminately.

Your premise is wrong. The post suggests overpopulation is a problem, and the original twitter it is referencing is suggesting his kids are in danger. Neither of these purposes prohibit poisoning as the most efficient solution.
