I know I’ll sound like a troll, but I don’t understand why anyone would get into VWs when you could just get into old BMWs instead. They’re infinitely more reliable, better performing, RWD, and better looking. I like Corrados but you could get a really nice E34 for the same amount of money and I’d much prefer the E34.

I’m inclined to say that it looks terrible, but I know that the designers were forced to work around the pedestrian crash safety standards which pretty much force cars of this size to be ugly. It’s not good but it’s also wasn’t possible for it to be good so I’m left feeling sad.

Nonsense, the motor is fantastic. It’s only bad when compared to the euro motor which was far superior to anything you could get from Porsche etc at the time. The US S52 gets a bad rap for no reason whatsoever and only from people who have never driven one.

Eh, a BMW I6 is a better motor. I get that it’s not at all for a whole host of reasons, but it still is and no LS will ever sound as good as one of the BMW motorsport engines.

Agreed. They’ve done an amazing job with it. It has virtually the same gear spread as the 6 speed in my M5 with two extra overdrive ratios, and it manages to shift smoothly while slipping the torque converter as little as possible. It’s easily as impressive as the engines which are also amazing.
