I’m gonna play the devil’s advocate here and say that this may also mean that more old titles (that would otherwise be ignored) could get a patch. Still, the Wild West side of the whole thing is the likely downside.

Agreed. I interpret this to mean, “We haven’t made a policy that you can’t charge for that patch.” In fairness, there’s probably been nothing up to this point preventing developers from charging for “HD textures” if they’d thought to do it.

if people were already fed up with micro-transactions in big triple-a games then it’s going to be even worse when publishers can charge you extra money for better graphics.

You will understand next year when you come to realize how many of the components of that gaming PC you just bought will need to be upgraded in order to keep up with the requirements of new games coming out.

Does it come with a headphone jack?

Does it come with a headphone jack?

No native 4K gaming
No 4K Blu-Ray
No mention of any FPS improvements

No console, Pro or Scorpio, is going to run games in native 4k. I don’t know how the rumor started but top of the line PC’s are just starting to be able to do that. 0% chance on a console at this time. Source I have 2 980ti’s in SLI and I’m not playing in 4k with 60 fps.

Microsoft’s tweet... Greatest Games... Yeah... right.

If there was ever a time for a kidnapping... Make it happen

I feel the same way, and I actually have been doing that for the most part! For the past 2 years, I’ve only bought like maybe 2-4 games a year. My list of games I’ve bought from the past keep piling up. lol

Oh totally. Yeah I meant that there would be multi player carrier scenarios

Sorry man, but you’re defending the indefendible here. And trust me, this is coming from someone who’s actually LOVING the game. I’ve already put several hours into it (I don’t know how many, stupid PS4 that doesn’t give me a way to track my playtime).

The impression I got from the trailer was that

I got about 3 hours and that might be pushing it. Different strokes I guess.

Was there even really a marketing strategy at all with this game? I don’t remember ever seeing commercials or ads of any kind about it - they just sort of left people to hype themselves about it after the E3 demo. People somehow got themselves to expect a complete Star Citizen level experience, and were disappointed

In the end though, there’s just one question:

I will pay it gladly. The controlled environment that enables console players to enjoy games generally free from having our experiences ruined by hackers is completely worth $60. If you think otherwise go play anything (except a blizzard game) on the PC.

This is key. It's nearly impossible to outrun a bad diet.
