Here's why it worked so well: because the developers crafted competent single-player shooter instead of yet another game where the "campaign" is three hours of scripted encounters on a linear path and a few over-dramatic cutscenes tacked onto a game where 90% of development resources were spent on multiplayer.

My issue wih this review was boredom. Like 8 paragraphs are dedicated to how lame the game is stylisticly and comedic lay and although mechanics and weapons descriptions were cleverly part of the mix, it still served the purpose of describing the same thing. I got so bored of reading the same point belabored nigh ad

hey now, shitty noise bands would appreciate not being lumped in with staind, thank you very much.

Zack has a great flow, I wish he did more conventional rap guest spots, but I'll take it where I can get it.

Must not be very clever. One side had blood all over it and the other side didn't.

The heads or tails sections was a basic puzzle. There are visual clues telling you which way to insert it.

Pretty much this. Though it's obvious by his comment he hasn't actually played the game. I hate to say it, but Evan (the reviewer) sounds like he was really bad at the game. That doesn't change the games faults though. I would say the game is definitely worth the playthrough, but with a caveat for having a

I felt pretty empowered in RE2. The only issue was dealing with the inventory space because the puzzles always wasted half of it.

I feel like you could easily swap most of what you written there with classic Resident Evil which is somewhat ironically what people have been asking for in the newer Resident Evils..

While he was a bit excessive, I'd say it's a good fucking video game.

So far, I'm enjoying the game, despite the game. I love the atmosphere. I love the game when it works.

I like the game. Reviews are all just a matter of opinion and personal taste. There are some common perceptions on stuff like mechanics or when things just don't work. But mechanically this game is fine. The only things I (as in me) do not like is it goes into what RE5 did with monsters and guns.

Just like jill and Leon and luis and every re character before them.

Shooting the switch on the ceiling was terrible. I died at least 10 times until I found it and I even knew what I was looking for. However, I love this game. Its not GOTY, nor was it trying to be. A ton of people got the game because of nostalgia, so in turn we received what we "liked". But the amount of torture porn

No. It's not that at all. Sloopydrew put it best when he said something like, "it's resident evil by way of dark souls". Summed the game up perfectly. It's twenty five hours plus, hard as hell and well worth full price if you like survival horror genre

Its filled with Resident Evil fan service. It really does feel like the spiritual successor to RE4. The infected in RE4 that throw the dynamite at you and throw the axe's at you are in Evil Within and use the exact same animation

Base your decision on any review but this one.

It's evident that you have not played the game. This is not a big dumb action game. This is survival horror.

You assume I spent 60$ on a game to rush it? Actually, I went in near every room in every area and collected everything I could. I did the opposite of rushing the game. This just simply is not a 30 hour game plain and simple. Obviously, you didn't play the game so why are you commenting and making assumptions on the
