This is one of the cars credited with starting the “Hot Hatch Revolution”. It was considered to be a lot faster, and more fun to drive than the Golf GTi. Unfortunately, because it had a twin-carb Lotus engine, it had far from a stellar reliability record. Thus it was trumped by the Golf GTi. It is however, still

Talbot/Chrysler Sunbeam Lotus because rear-wheel drive lunacy.

A little dissappointed that there’s no Stanza Zuckerberg in here.

Porsche 944.

As someone who owned a very used Neon at one point in life, I would be ecstatic if someone told me I could make a living off testing used Neons.

I’m a little biased because I daily one of these, but how about a 2003 Nissan Xterra SE/SC? This one’s a little on the pricier side at $7k, but it seems to be in reasonably good shape, with low miles for a 12 year old truck. They’re actually pretty reliable since the motor is the venerable VG33 with forged internals

The Republic XF-84H “Thunderscreech”.

The EG Hatch, hands down. My 2012 Civic EX Coupe got worse mileage than my 1992 Civic Si Hatch and it was less fun to drive than its 20 year old sibling. Plus, the EG had a split tailgate, that was its best feature.

When Sloan smashed up that W124 Benz in the video for All Used Up. After the valets take it for a joyride they beat it with sledge hammers. I could never tell exactly what model W124 it was. Bonus: The band also plays in front of what looks like a ‘77 Chevelle Sedan.

I guess if you owned the cars for 15 years, it would have been easier to convert a USDM GTS. I’m not sure what it was like to actually import cars 15 years ago. Nevertheless, they’re both gorgeous cars, don’t ever let them go!

I agree. These cars were at one point, so cheap that you could pick them up as demolition derby cars. I was only 14 at the time, But if only I had known what these cars would be worth one day.

Both those AE86s are LHD, so they’re just Corolls GTSs (correct me if I’m wrong). Thus, wouldn’t it have been close to the same amount of money to just import a genuine Sprinter Trueno instead of converting a GTS?

Oddly enough, that particular tower only houses ground control, and Terminal 1 apron control. The main tower, which is located in the center of the field is much older (built in the late 1980s I believe). Terminal 3 apron & Gates are controlled by a very small tower on top of the terminal.

however with Nissan, mileage wasn’t a factor, and there was no option to have the vehicle fixed. You HAD to surrender the vehicle to Nissan.

Similar deal with what happened to my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. Was recalled because the strut towers rotted from the inside out due to a manufacturing defect. Mine was bought back by Nissan, and I was given market value +25%. Mind you, that was Nissan doing it on its own terms, to avoid this kind of scenario.

I am literally just here to add some AMC Eagle to the conversation.

How about an EG Civic Si Hatch grounded by four 215/60R13 Goodyear GT Radials on Aero Race Wheels? Because that’s the closest I’ve come to road legal go kart handling.

I used to wok for Honda north of the border. They point blank denied the ZDX and Crosstour were related. We all knew they were lying...

I had an R50 Pathfinder once. Literally indestructible.
