It becomes hilarious when you consider they’ve allowed themselves to be exploited the exact same way since the Civil War.

BUTHEREMAILS!
He was never that close.
Maybe overhauling the tax code in one weekend in crayon is what he meant by passing a bill in regular order.
McCain’s a piece of shit, always has been. Like I was saying yesterday, (“You recall?” he said with tongue planted firmly in cheek) one brief moment of relative humanity does not erase an entire career of shittiness.
“They should be forced to own every last bit of this truly evil shit forever.”
To be fair, he never was that close. He only voted against the healthcare bill because even the mainstream press was beginning to question his Maverick credentials. This time he didn’t bother pretending to give a shit.
I can hardly wait to see what they do with the findings of the Mueller investigation that show the entire Trump family (including extended family) guilty of treason.
The change in the standard deduction is the only tax break I’ve been able to find, at least for everyone who isn’t a corporation or one of the 98% of estate owners who aren’t already exempt for the estate tax. Am I missing something here?
It really did devolve quickly into a total “fuck it, this too” free-for-all over the last few days and I think there’s a pretty good reason why. The GOP ghouls on the Hill know that their chances to put whatever crazy and cruel bucket list items in front of a fucking dope like Trump who will sign any goddamn thing…
Well considering most Trump supporters are actively voting against their own best interests, I’d say they are pretty darn unselfish and being quite generous in giving tax breaks to the wealthy.
Is your buddy not aware of all the other middle-class tax loopholes they’re closing that are going to wipe that $800 out?
It’s almost as if the Republicans were a bunch of hypocritical moralizing venal political operatives who don’t actually care about their constituents!
I keep waiting for a funny comment to show up here or in my head, but I honestly feel like this thing’s so fucking awful, every joke curdles in my mouth.
Oh it’ll never get paid for. Future legislations will just use the debt as an excuse to cut these programs.
A brief excerpt from a text exchange with a Republican friend of mine.
But think of the private jets! Won’t anyone think of the private jets?
A reminder - the year+ process to pass the ACA, that welcomed and APPROVED some reasonable GOP amendments, that went through regular order, committees, debate, was supposedly rammed through according to conservative critics. They were still complaining about that in 2016.
Yeah, it’s almost as if the people wearing these shirts haven’t fully thought through the issue.
Probably a recycled design from the 1960s with the word ‘journalist’ now replacing the word... um, well, it was a different time
