Hopefully, it meant more ft positions were created because there isn’t less work. Here there’s been talk of *gasp* hiring nursing home workers ft and paying a living wage. A huge number of lives could’ve been saved if temp work had been stopped early, like at your grandma’s home. I’m glad she’s safe!
How do you even have substitute teachers, who work at multiple schools? Temp/ pt staff is one reason covid spread so easily from one longterm care home to the next.
That lame-duck period scares the hell out of me.
The parents who can will keep their kids home. The parents who can’t work with their kids at home will have to send them. Once again communities with more frontline workers will be hit with higher rates of covid.
HOW are people still having parties? Did no one see the stories about NY having so many bodies, they ran out of places to put them? Or Spain, where they repurposed ice rinks into morgues? And ran out of PPE so their medical staff worked with zero protection? How bad would it need to get for America to take it…

I’m in Ontario. We locked down from mid-March to mid-June, with a slow reopening. We still have 200 cases/ day, but it’s slowing down and the hospitals weren’t overwhelmed. The longterm care homes are another story. Most of our deaths are because of outbreaks in seniors homes :(
