I tore my meniscus a couple months ago and started rewatching WW (and the WW weekly podcast.) It was comforting at first, but then imaging that orange idiot in any of those situations started scaring the shit out me. And that was before he suddenly handed the Kurds over to Asad, the Syrian border to Turkey and all…
I’ll be doing my annual read of The Dark is Rising starting on midwinter’s eve (Dec. 20). I’m not sure why the solstice is also called midwinter. If you can find them, Tolkein’s Father Christmas Letters are fun.
If you’re looking for distraction and you like being “self-partnered” at the movies (I do), it’s traditional for my non-xmas-celebrating friends to do chinese and a movie on the 25th. Or you could do take-out and netflix. There might be some caroling in your town, which would be a bit like a holiday party, and might…
That sounds fantastic! I am one of the housesat, as I will be hosting my parents and sister. One the one hand, my family is great, but on the other I’m and introvert and your holiday sounds lovely.
Me too! I had to googled lacroix as well.
concur. Let’s also cancel anything curated.
So much more!
Thanks for your condolences. I do feel better having something that belonged to him, and I know he’d be glad I have the car, especially since I’m having a lot of trouble walking right now. That I could take over the lease on the car is helpful to his wife. She’s relieved she doesn’t have to make payments on the car as…
SAUSAGE DOG PUPPIES IN SWEATERS
I got my first car today... on the one hand it’s a little exciting, but on the other hand I finally caved and got one because I tore my meniscus and taking transit to work (and for everything else) suddenly became super difficult. The other shitty thing is, I got this particular car because it belonged to a family…
Were you accosted by dogs in sweaters? Or just horrified on principle?
I forgot about the post-30 hangovers... I swear I never had a hangover until I was about 32. Now I get them sometimes even when I don’t drink, like if I don’t drink enough water after playing hockey. My poor aging body just sucks up water like a sponge ;)
Happy birthday! I started really feeling like a proper grown up around the time I turned 30. I guess I started feeling that way sometime after 24 or 25, but I really embraced it around 30. I also started getting sportier- I took up paddling kayaks and playing hockey in my 30s.
I vote double batch! If there’s any left over, I bet you could talk people into taking some home... but there won’t be any leftovers. They look yum!
kackle
kinja won’t let me give stars, but here is one anyway
If kinja allowed me to give stars, I would give you all of them.
