Not everyone goes to Vegas for F1. May surprise you to learn it’s actually a well-traveled destination. So you’re obscuring views of the strip several days before the race and ruining peoples’ Vegas experience who have nothing to do with the race.

I’d disagree. I’ve seen F1 at Silverstone, Montreal and Indy. had both GA and assigned seating for all of them. I will grant you that you aren’t fully aware of the race like when you’re watching it on TV but at Montreal we had grand stand seating at turn 10 which has a fast run up to a tight hairpin where they’re on

I’m mostly just ribbing you, but it’s true, I don’t watch F1 unless I need a nap. I’ve tried a lot.

The issue is the bridges in question aren’t there just for the race. They’re used by thousands of tourists who don’t give a damn about the race, they just want to look at the skyline. It wouldn’t be a big deal if F1 put the screens up shortly before the event started, but they were unnecessarily put up weeks (probably

Figure-8 tracks then.

The dissonance between what Liberty Media professes to be the reason for this race and the actual logistics are so on-brand for a corporation with its head stuck up its own ass that I look forward to the inevitable ratings/revenue underachievement and shock from LM.

Better than watching follow the leader on TV. You know race cars are allowed to pass each other, right?

Not me. I have been to a few circuit races. They universally suck to spectate. Better off watching at home on a nice big TV.

That’s why the oval is the superior format for racing.

Another thing that isn’t often mentioned is that the race is starting at 10:00 PM local time, meaning that on the east coast the race will start at 1:00 AM! Apparently this is so that European fans can watch the race in the morning. But... wasn’t this all about increasing American viewership of F1? Absurd.

I know people are stupid, but are we REALLY that stupid? Makes me think of nosebleed seating for concerts or sporting events. Unless those ticket prices are like $10, what’s the point?

“...a $500 “general admission” ticket, featured no views of the track itself; instead, you’d hang out with a bunch of other F1 fans in a convention center and watch the race on TV.”

Greedflation is the term.

Indeed. Over 30 dollars for 2 beers at a recent concert is highway robbery.

How about concerts are too expensive and people who go to them don’t want to spend money on overpriced refreshments?

Exactly. When the venue charges as much for one beer as the store does for a 6 pack then I pregame before I go. Or i buy the same brand as the club serves and bring in my own.

This is dumb from both sides. Musk is just invalidating his system, for sure. But also this is just another remind that the only thing you can truly do to stick it to Elon on Twitter is to just leave it.

Times are tight, but combing through this article for copy edits, grammar and spelling errors could be a good quality control decision.

Quibi was a bad idea & he should feel bad, and now he should really feel like an idiot for ruining his marriage to Reese Witherspoon. Some people can’t handle prosperity

Fair. I’ll correct myself. Anything we know is from what Angelina reported to the FBI.
