Yeah… the PD doesn't apply to them. They're at a similar enough development level. It refers to lesser developed civilizations (ie pre-warp drive in most cases).

I'd rather watch Louise Fletcher and Marc Alaimo.

That's sweet.

I really loved that about Voyager but it isn't enough to make it my favourite Trek. DS9 still wins easily.

Also, when they're a chair or a cloud or a bag, they're specifically copying something's exact appearance. So unless they're directly copying a specific person the there's no exact face TO copy. Hence why ALL Founders have the same time of 'non face' when in humanoid form.

If you want fun check out "Take Me Out To the Holosuite", "Badda Bing Badda Bang", and many more more light-hearted fun romps on DS9. But you probably won't because YOU'VE already decided that you don't like DS9.

I've seen very episode of VOY and honestly have no clue to whom you're referring when talking about a character with a mental illness.

Exactly this^ Everyone knows this line. He's the guy specifically mentioned in that super famous line.

Very well said. First contact with Vulcans didn't happen when they INVENTED warp drive (you typically don't invent something and test it on the same day). Like Motard said, it was the successful warp test that caught the Vulcans attention. they knew of earth but avoided it as we were too primitive until that point.

You're in for a hell of a fun ride.

I can't fathom how anyone could call Janeway (yes inconsistently written as she is) bland or boring. That's just nonsense.

One of my all-time favourite moments of Trek is from the finale when Kira, Garak and Damar are locked out of Dominion HQ with no way to bust in. their plan entirely thwarted. Garak gets the giggles over the absurdity of the situation causing the other two (KIRA of all people) to also get the giggles. The image of Kira

I will never understand or endorse the 'skip the bad ones' advice on TV shows. Yes of course there's a crazy amount of epsiodes to watch but why NOT watch the lesser eps. The rest of us did and it didn't scar us. If anything it makes you appreciate a really great one when you come across it. Plus no episode is so

Oh dive in and enjoy! I understand the imposing-ness of it but really you can dive in just about anywhere and enjoy yourself.

I remember first seeing Star Wars when it premiered on TV but I'm sure Trek pre-dates it in my mind. There was always Trek around, thanks mostly to my older brother.

"I have a question."

Man imagine the 5th season possibilities with Shran as a regular.

I just did a re-watch of ENT S4 on blu-ray and was pleasantly surprised. I was half expecting it to disappoint me due to nostalgia but it exceeded expectations. I think being able to watch the multi-parters in succession only helped.

When I met Marina at a con a while back I mentioned how much better Troi looked in the standard uniform. She emphatically yelled out "THANK YOU!", as though I helped prove a point she had tried to make for years on the show. Ha ha

Very well said. Even things like seeing two same sex officers in the background at Quark's or Ten forward holding hands or something would've been nice. A regular crewman? Where it was just part of their life and not a big deal/very special episode? My head would've exploded from joy.
