They are, but they have two 15 minute separate stories in each episode. So they are short form because they are really 2 episodes every half hour.

Yep, the last season of "The Big C" was so short that they switched to miniseries.

If I remember correctly, each actor picks one episode for themselves to submit. Then the show can submit between 1 and 5 episodes for the show overall.

Jonah is definitely more showy, for sure. Tony Hale is more of the subtle acting, on a show where there isn't a lot of subtle. I was thinking Reid Scott (Dan) had a shot for his meltdown episode.

This was Veep's best season so far, I think, and they held all the acting nominations from last year, and pulled another with Gary Cole. I think this is their best shot yet.

There always does seem to be a SNL performer each year, but she is the best part of the show for me, so I don't mind.
